Miss Ping's eatery in Docklands catches my attention every single time during my weekly visits with its bright neon-colored lights, elegant interiors, and vast dining area. Yesterday's visit was totally unplanned as we decided to watch Deadpool vs. Wolverine, knowing that by the time the movie finished, it would be way past our usual dinner time.
We walked in around 5 PM to an almost empty restaurant and were greeted by very amiable staff with lovely smiles. We chose a 4-seater table to have ample table space. For me, Thai cuisine is rated based on my experience with either the cliché Tom Yum Seafood Noodle soup or one of my favorite dishes of all time, the boat noodle soup. Keeping that in mind, and considering we didn't have much time to spare, we decided to make it simple by ordering two beef boat noodles.
The presentation was very good. However, the soup was a bit disappointing. As my partner put it, "It lacks something that gives the soup the classic spice and sour taste." They say the ambiance and the restaurant's appearance affect the taste of the dish. If it wasn't for the great service and nice restaurant outlook, I believe I would be extremely disappointed.
One of the main reasons the soup lacked the taste we expected was due to the absence of a condiments station. There was no fish sauce, white sugar, crushed dried chilies, or chilies in vinegar to help ourselves with, or perhaps we weren't informed about it. These are essential to unlocking the flavors of the soup.
Overall, while the ambiance and service at Miss Ping's were excellent, the food fell short of expectations. With some improvements in flavor and ensuring diners are aware of the condiments, this eatery has the potential to...

📍Miss Ping's Thai Eatery New Mookata menu available on weekdays from 5pm! (at The District Docklands) #invite
Have you ever tried mookata? It's a trendy Thai cuisine which literally means "pan pork". If you're indecisive and can't choose between hotpot and BBQ, why not choose both? The iconic pot combines a grill and soup pot - it's a fun way to enjoy cooking meat and seafood the way you like, especially on a night out with friends!
Miss Ping's offers various mookata sets (starting from $49) we got the premium mookata set $79 which included pork neck, belly, liver, meatballs, beef, tom yum marinated chicken, and all the extras like tofu and vegetables! It came with various dips too; experience many different flavours!
The portions are big, and are recommended for groups of 3 to 4 people.
There are many other sides, dishes and desserts to add on too! My favourites include the pineapple fried rice, pad thai (honestly my favourite pad thai in Melbourne), thai tea crepe cake, mango sticky rice, and banana fritters.
We also got a Phuket punch to share; the tropical fruits with black tea was nice and refreshing! Perfect to go with the hot and steamy mookata on a summer day!
Be sure to check it out and experience the flavours of Thailand at Miss Ping's! It offers a unique and modern dining experience while sticking to authentic flavours and...
Read moreTerrible experience — dishonest and unprofessional management. We came here for a team bonding dinner (15 people) and I specifically mentioned I needed a full receipt to claim the expense back to my company.
When making the booking, they asked for a $100 deposit. Fair enough, we paid it.
After dinner, the total bill was $534. The staff said, “Since you already paid $100, just pay $434 now.” I paid $434, but when the bill came out, it only showed $434 total, as if they had given a discount, instead of the full $534.
I explained very clearly: our total bill was $534 and I paid $534, I just need the receipt to show the full amount for reimbursement. Instead, it turned into a 10-minute argument.
They finally called the boss, who also wasted more time before asking me to leave my email so they could send the correct bill. Two days later — nothing. I called them again, gave my email again, and still nothing.
This is not just bad customer service, it’s dishonest business practice. If a restaurant cannot even provide a simple, correct tax invoice after multiple requests, it shows a complete lack of professionalism from both staff and management.
For a place that charges these prices, the service was chaotic, rude, and careless. I would never recommend Miss Ping Docklands for group dining, company events, or honestly for...
