After reading all the bad reviews, I have to agree and confirm that everything about this place is just BAD. If I could give minus star, I would. From customer service to the bland food. But mainly its their FALSE Advertisement to lure customers in.
We ordered 1 portion of the peking duck set (not knowing that apparently it’s on promotion for $44.40) and we ordered thinking that it’s $88.80 because it doesn’t say anything about the promotion. When we asked for take away containers for our leftovers, they said “oh duck promotion is TO DINE IN ONLY, not allowed to take away” , we’re so confused as to why? Then the manager came and explained that on instagram it’s stated duck set is to dine in only because it’s on promotion for $44.40 and not allowed to take leftovers home because then people would start ordering a lot of portions to bring home. BUT WHERE on instagram?? There, I attached their instagram post, does it say anywhere about dine in only?! Have a read yourself. Then, there were no extra menu explaining about the promotion, their hidden banner for the duck set promotion on the window ALSO doesn’t say anything about ‘to dine in only’, and NOT a single waiter/waitress told us about the promotion either. Then HOW. the. hell customers should know about such rules??? Make it make sense, like??
The manager kept circling around to find an excuse when I already explained that no one hasn’t even mentioned any rules about the duck promotion, kept saying that it’s on instagram when it’s not even stated on instagram. Like??? He then said with a cocky tone “okay you can do take away but you have to pay full price of $88.80)”. Mind you, we ordered 1 set, not 2, not 5, and for some reason he kept implying that we and other customers would order many sets just to bring home, when he’s clearly able to see that we have no idea about the promotion but he just kept arguing with us. I was so UPSET by how he handled the situation. Besides how do you expect every single customer that come is aware about anything on instagram?! What about the people who don’t even have instagram? Huh? I used to work in customer service, I rarely make any complaints, BUT THIS IS CALLED FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!
He ruined our family dinner time for arguing back and forth as to why they can’t do take away for the duck for a long time, when no one hadn’t even mentioned anything until we’re finish eating. Very unprofessional and it’s just so frustrating. Bright Palace is officially THE WORST restaurant I’ve ever been to in Melbourne. NEVER...

Out of the many branches of chinese cuisine, Cantonese yum cha is still unmatched in skill and mastery😌🤌🏻 so here is what i ordered at Bright Palace that's super beginner friendly especially when you dont know what to try😽
PEKING DUCK🌟 ($88) The set comes with a little mountain of crispy skinned duck meat, thin pancakes, scallion, cucumbers, hoisin sauce (the classic💅🏻) and stir-fry noodles with MORE duck meat🦆 Peking duck is hard to do well guys and this place lived up to my expectations!! The duck is not to fat yet not dry or tough to chew, i also really appreciate how the duck meat in the noodles are still tender and juicy!
Black Truffle Soup Dumplings 黑松露小籠包 ($19.8/6 pc) soup dumplings and truffle, need i say more😽
Stir-fry beef with Chinese Broccoli 芥蘭炒牛肉 ($34.8) chinese broccoli is such an interesting way to translate it i don't think it resembles a broccoli at all? It's a crunchy juicy premium veg that my family orders every time💖
Sweet and Sour Pork 咕嚕肉 ($39.60) EVERYONE'S CHILDHOOD FAV!!! Pairs super well with rice you've probably had this somewhere else because this is a really popular dish, but here they make a very high quality version skin is crispy and thin on the pork😋

Read moreA true yumcha experience with dimsum carts rolling to your table in Docklands! You know it’s authentic when you see asian families eating here on a sunday morning. It’s definitely something we used to do as children with our families back home 🥹
Upon entering you’ll be blessed by the good smell of dimum as the carts roll around the restaurant for you to pick your options as they pass by!
Some of our personal favourites were the bbq pork puff, every bite was super flaky, melting in our mouth with generous amount of bbq pork within. The matcha salted egg yolk bun was definitely a mix of good pastry with gooey salted egg inside, so good served warm! The soy sauce fried noodle is something we often order in dimsum locations and we loved how good it was here! Definitely reminded me of hongkong noodles 🫶🏻 lastly, the mango sago with coconut pudding within was such a perfect end of our meal. Absolutely enjoyed our meal here, would return honestly just for their mango sango, it was that good! 🥭🥹
