I came here just after 5 to catch up with an old friend over dinner. I'd like to first off say that this little gem is kind of hidden and perhaps Google maps may take you the wrong way, like it did for me. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming as almost everything was wood. Very minimal signs of plastic Loko and I felt like it was somewhat environmentally friendly and sustainable, except for the disposable chopsticks. The staffs were quite friendly and helpful. The food was great - my friend and I ordered the volcano pop chicken and it was delicious. The presentation was spot on. My only complaint was it was too expensive for what it was. The chicken is $19 per plate and it does NOT come with rice. Rice was $3 per bowl. Now, I want to say that I'm not taking a stab at the staffs, because I'm not. They do not set the prices. Dear business owner, you must be out of your mind to charge $19 for popcorn chicken without rice; no matter how good it tastes. Would I come here again? Probably yes, but not on my own. $10 gets you a bucket of popcorn chicken at KFC. I would recommend this place if you have disposable money but honestly, it could be spent better elsewhere. It would've received 5 stars from me if the price matched the portion and quality of the food.

I recently visited Peko Peko based on a recommendation from a friend, and I'm thrilled to say that the experience exceeded my expectations. To ensure a table, I made a reservation for 7 o'clock, and upon arrival, I was delighted to see a bustling atmosphere with diners thoroughly enjoying their meals. Booking in advance is highly recommended to secure a spot. For our entrees, we savored the delectable Chilly Peanut Prawn Wonton, the mouthwatering Big Boss Tempura Prawn, and the flavor-packed Volcano Spice Pop Chicken. Each dish showcased a delightful blend of flavors and textures, leaving us thoroughly impressed. Moving on to the mains, we indulged in the succulent Chilly Chicken and the perfectly cooked Fried Rice. Both dishes exhibited impeccable taste and presentation, further enhancing our dining experience. Overall, the food at Peko Peko was nothing short of exceptional. The flavors were well-balanced, the ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was appealing. The friendly and attentive staff added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Based on this fantastic experience, we are already looking forward to returning to Peko Peko. It's an establishment that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.

NEGATIVE STARS!! Restaurant is A SCAM and run by THE WORST MANAGER/CASHIER! THEY CHEAT ON THEIR CUSTOMERS AND SELL DOUGH WHICH THEY MARKET AS ACTUAL CHICKEN AND MEAT. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF PEKO PEKO since I encountered the rudest cashier/manager. IF I CAN GIVE A ZERO I WOULD. I HAVE ENCOUNTERED THE RUDEST AND MOST CONDESCENDING MANAGER/CASHIER HERE, WITH BROWN HAIR MIDDLE AGED LADY she was manning the cashier at 2:00PM SATURDAY FEB10,2024 . I hope the owner would come to her senses and replace her because she would flush the business down the drain. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE and VERY NEGATIVE ATTITUDE!!! I have been to this restaurant all the time, loyal for years. They changed their cook and the food is absolutely disgusting now, they serve BREADCRUMBS that they market off as Beef. What a rip-off. We told that manager/cashier about the food but she did not even apologise and instead made faces to us and was quite rude and did not even listen, instead raised her voice to us to pay up. RUDEST LADY EVER!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NOT COME BACK!!!! See photo for proof that they sell ONLY FRIED DOUGH instead of crispy beef SO DISAPPOINTED OF WHAT THIS BUSINESS HAS TURNED OUT TO BECOME ESPECIALLY THE MANAGER AND FOOD

Tonight's adventure took us to Peko Peko, where by 6.30pm the place was rapidly filling. Mmm... this place must be good given that it's a bit tucked away from the main thoroughfare. Four menus later, we placed our order with a polite waitress but I wonder ... ... My friend asked a few times whether the Good Hot Crispy Calamari was deep fried or stir fried. I'm not convinced the waitress understood the question and replied that it was fried. Of course it came out deep fried. They were so accommodating when my friend asked to change the dish to the beef curry as she can't handle the oil. The turnaround for the replacement dish was fast and without fuss, which we really appreciated. The Soft Shell Crab and Fried Brown Rice was a generous portion of multi-colour rice, barley and corn with several pieces of soft shell crab. The different textures in each mouthful made the tasty dish interesting, though some pieces of the soft shell crab were a bit powdery? Highlight of the meal was the Thai Milk Tea Panacotta with green tea ice-cream. With a touch of sweetened condensed milk and a sprinkle of matcha powder, this was an excellent way to finish the meal.

This isn’t authentic Taiwanese and for it to be labeled a Taiwanese restaurant agonizes my core. I ordered the pork mince rice, the staple to grade the standard of any Taiwanese dish and it was, eh. First off, the usage of long grain rice for any Taiwanese dish is blasphemy in my opinion. Where was the fluffy short grain rice that homogenised with the pork mince? Sure, what’s the difference between long and short some might think, but that is the staple to Taiwanese dishes; fluffy rice. Mustard greens has no kick to it either The saving grace was the Wasabi mayo prawn with pineapple, that was nice albeit not quiteTaiwanese but I’ll let it slide since it was the saving grace for the two stars for food. The mother in laws egg was… eh. Sprinkled with too much tempura flakes. The matcha ice cream with pancake was good. Overall, it was disappointing to see that this is what Melbourne calls “Taiwanese”. All the best in the future.
