On account of the fact that their roasts sell out every Sunday, the Prince Patrick recommend not only calling up to book a table, but actually pre-ordering your roast when you call. This is what we did on this first Sunday of Winter and we were richly rewarded with a traditional, homely roast that left us rubbing our bellies with big smiles on our faces. Believe the hype.
We tried both the beef and the lamb (they also had a pork and a veggie option) and both were generous, filling and delicious. The lamb was leg and the beef was rump. Prime cuts that were paired with roasted potatoes, carrots and parsnips. A generous ramiken with a cauliflower gratin flecked with crispy bacon and and a traditional Yorkie. Note that every element of the dish was roasted. The gravy was delicious as was the mint jelly that came with the lamb and the horseradish that came with the beef.
This is a roast that we're forever being recommended and we can see why you guys love it so much. Put this $28 Collingwood roast on your list, but make sure you call to...
Read moreJust want to start by thanking the amazing staff here! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with happy positive vibes!! We are travelling from Perth with 2 young children who have been dragged around Melbourne site seeing for days now! We stopped by the mcg and needed somewhere close by as the kids were loosing their minds and so were mum and dad 🤪! As soon as we entered we felt welcome especially with the kids which had been hard to come by in the Melbourne area! My daughter asked for “plain pasta” for dinner and I knew she would lose control if she did t get it (fierce 3 yr old) the chef was more then happy to oblige which made our life so much easier! He also steamed some Veges which both kids demolished! Aside from the hospitality towards our children my husband and I absolutely loved our meals. I wish we found this place on our first night rather than our last as we would have returned nightly without a doubt! Thanks guys we love it and if we are ever back in town we...
Read moreHaving been here before and had the best roast in Melbourne at a reasonable price I came again from the other side of town and brought friends. I called before to check roast was still being served. Was advised it normally sells out by 3pm. Arrived at 2.30 to find out there was no more roasts left and I could have pre ordered the food on the phone. This was not relayed on the phone call and the bar service was unfriendly by the staff member who was unwelcoming. I came back a few weeks later because the roast is so god damn amazing. Got there for midday and the roast was as above…. Amazing. Had a friend with me who is GF, he said the Parma was one of the best he has had. He would love to have had a roast but the amazing Cauliflower cheese has gluten. Mr chef can u change that? So the GF people can enjoy the incredible roast and its trimmings? Service was great too…….. redeemed……coming back....
