Prophecy Espresso — Restaurant in Melbourne

Was hoping to find our new local coffee spot after moving to St Kilda and seeing great reviews of Prophecy, but sadly we will not be returning.

We felt like we were being an inconvenience to the staff by being there. On top of the unfriendly delivery, the service was very slow…. we ordered (2 oat milk flat whites), they gave us one and then they gave coffees to the 5 customers who ordered afterwards before our second one arrived?! Simply made no sense.

Normally I’d try again as we all have our bad days in hospo but this was the worst experience I’ve had in Melbourne. The only thing that lifted the mood of the place were other...

Thanks to boxing day (26 Dec 2024) Got a chance to pop in to the shop Had a really nice hot long black I’m not fussy with temp of my hot drink Good coffee, good people working at the cafe

Tried one of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake as well, not too sweet I truly enjoyed it pairing with black coffee soo so good ✨

Will try other pastries next time

On summer days in front of the shop you might find a little dirty streets in front But once you walk in to the cafe it feels more cosy and clean

Mean and rude service. I only go here because the food and coffee is good and it’s so close by but every time I’ve been here the people serving me have been so rude and mean. I live locally so I come by when I’m in a rush and need a coffee and in all the times I’ve been only had kind service once. I left in tears because of the way they talked to me today. So disappointing to be treated with such rude tones. I also talk kindly to them and they are always so rude to me. Please be kinder to your customers....
