The pizza is perfect. The dough is chewy and perfectly baked. The crust is nice and thin, a quality I love on pizzas. The toppings are fresh. My favourite and go-to right now is the classic Manhattan pizza which consists of pepperoni and mushroom. The sauce is great too. I rate the pizza 5/5.
I’ve tried the garlic knots, they’re edible and okay tasting but I wouldn’t buy it nor do I recommend it so I’d say it’s a 1/5. (No photo attached)
The pepperoni swirls (photo attached) are like little pizza scrolls. I rate them a 4/5 as I’m surprised by the great taste fitted in these mini pastries. Unfortunately the bottom was burnt and I had the burnt taste in my mouth which is something that could be easily fixed.
The store is unfortunately too small but it does add a sense of coziness so I don’t mind. The only problem is it’s not ventilated as it should be for a pizza bakery and especially during winter when the front door is closed the smoke gets trapped in.
I recommend one additional staff whose only role is cleaning the tables and floors, as there are 3 guys I see at all times who bake and take the orders but usually are too busy to tend to the dine in area.
Sal’s Pizza offers wholehearted and unforgettable pizza dishes, and will always be a personal favourite filled with good memories and happy tummies.

Read moreWas keen to try this since they opened, finally trying it now. I ordered little neck combo so I can try two flavours of the pizza and the garlic knots as well. I chose Brooklyn (pepperoni, sausage & meatball) and Fire Island (pepperoni, jalapenos and hot honey drizzle). Pizza was so so, maybe because they weren’t made fresh and ready to served, so even though they reheated it for us, the taste wasn’t that great. It might be great if when you came, they have fresh out of the oven one. When I came, they got pepperoni pizza fresh from the oven, but unfortunately I don’t really like pepperoni that much, so I skipped it 🥲 It would be nice if they put the pizza name on the display, otherwise had to keep asking or checking on the board above (which either too bright or high, so I wasn’t too comfortable looking at it), some hand menu would be great. Brooklyn was alright, average meat pizza. Fire Island was quite sweet, just realised it got honey when I noticed the sweetness and checked what was on it. Preference though. Garlic knots was so so as well, probably because it wasn’t as fresh too at the time I’m having it 😅 Floor could use some scrubbing. Place wasn’t too enticing for me to dine-in so I had it for takeaway. I guess it’s good if you’re in a hurry and need to grab something quick (still need time to reheat...
Read moreLunch @SalsPizzaAus - not a large place but has the NY feel with red booths and a hungry line of the lunchtime crowd for dine in and takeaway.
I got the Little Neck combo which gives the choice of any 2 9" pizza slices and 2 garlic knots, a a choice of dipping sauce, with a drink. I chose:
Buffalo - Chicken Breast, Blue Cheese Dressing & Classic Buffalo Sauce
Sausage - Italian Fennel Sausage
After taking a seat the food was served in a jiffy. The garlic knots are yum, full of garlic flavour, nice soft bread buns which are even better with a dip of the traditional blue cheese dipping sauce.
The pizza slice is thin but firm holding its shape and has a good coverage of toppings without being piled high. The chicken is tender, lovely flavour of the white sauce and is thankfully not dry. The sausage pizza is even better and I thoroughly enjoyed this variety. The pizzas aren't greasy. Tasty quick meal that was satisfying.
