Sassone is a wonderful place to be if you want community, or a nice quiet meal to your self. The staff are a handful to deal with, because of their beautiful Italian humour. Wonderful people to be around. Two of the owners come down often to visit and see everyone. You will soon identify who commonly visits here. (This includes myself on many occasions) The food in marvellous to enjoy. Yes the food is pricy. But who doesn’t want something pricy to know that their food is going to be exquisite in appearance, quality, quantity and taste? I thoroughly enjoy their pizzas pastas and ICECREAM. The specials on the wall change every now and then . But it’s not what other places do a “special where they try get rid of old food fast” it’s provided because everyone’s had this dish once in a while - but don’t always know the name, and always want to surprise customers with new and a variety. The food is always freshly prepared, freshly stocked most every day. Even Nona And her bubs goes to the local markets to get some of the produce themselves to provide for the sassone business. It shows how authentic and wonderful of a place it is to be here. And a wonderful atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves, stay for a few good drinks as happy hour is 👌 especially Mr. Franks amazing lemonchello. - home made, unique, delicious. the view is worth while to sit outside...

With a party of six people, five of us got our meals and the 6th person didnt get his meal until after we had all finished our meals. The length of time it took for his meal to be brough out was unacceptable. For us to sit and not eat while he waited would have meant that we all had cold meals. The rest of us felt uncomfortable eating while he had to sit and wait for a meal for so long. It was really bad for us all to sit there and watch him eat as we had all finished our meals and our plates were cleared by the time he got his meal. And for it to come out with under cooked rice in the end.
One dish ordered was not described correctly on the menu and when it came out it was full of onions which should be noted on menu, should a patron not tolerate onions. The dish was left unfinished.
Even ordering a coffee taking over half hour for it to be brought out was not very good.
I have been here twice before and had a good experience but this time for a dinner that cost over $400, it was a...
Read moreWe had recently moved into the area and on the first night after a long day of moving, we wanted somewhere local for dinner. Initially, we went to another small pizza place closer to our building but ended up not eating there due to the rudeness of the lady behind the counter. So we decided to venture a little further and found this gem of a place. We were seated promptly with our 3yo daughter and made to feel welcome by the owner. I had the seafood claypot and my partner had a pizza. Both were wonderful! Only small thing was - I had asked for chilli not to be added to the claypot so that my daughter could have it but the kitchen must have forgotten. In the end, she still enjoyed the pizza with my partner and I got to eat all the seafood by myself. Ha! We love the food and the friendliness of this joint and it will now be our main Italian go to. Now that we have found our local treasure, who cares about the other pizza place even if it is closer to...
