My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding at SEG on 22.09.24 and while the venue itself was beautiful, there were several aspects of the service and process that left us deeply disappointed. I believe it’s important to share this feedback with you in the hope that future events can be handled with more care and professionalism.
1.Wedding Planner Our experience with the wedding planner was very unpleasant. He frequently spoke over me and made me feel uncomfortable. When I inquired about meal suppliers on 17/9/24, his response was that it was too late, followed by harsh criticism that we were getting back to him too late. While I understand the importance of timelines, the way he communicated this was intimidating and unnecessary. He mentioned that everything needed to be in writing, but this was never communicated to us in advance. Had we known, we would have ensured that all our communication was done formally. His email responses were often delayed, and overall, we felt he was not helpful or supportive, which only added more stress in the lead-up to the wedding. It seemed as though he was simply doing his job without any genuine care for our day. On the day of the wedding, I overheard him raising his voice at the photobooth supplier, which I found highly unprofessional. This added to the stress we were already feeling on our special day.
2.Security: Several of our guests reported feeling uncomfortable after being pushed by the security team. This aggressive behavior is unacceptable, especially at an event meant to celebrate a joyful occasion.
3.Bar Staff: One of the bartenders displayed poor attitude and lacked courtesy when serving our guests, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the evening.
4.Projector Setup: We were informed on the day of the wedding that the projector had not been confirmed, despite verbally telling the wedding planner about it in advance. He blamed us for not providing written confirmation, which added unnecessary stress and confusion on the day of the event.
5.Extra Charges for Ceiling Lights: While the wedding planner emphasized that everything had to be confirmed in writing (and blamed us for not doing so regarding the projector set up), we were charged for extra ceiling lights without any written confirmation or our legal consent. If everything needed to be in writing, why were these lights added without our approval? We strongly believe we should not be held responsible for this charge and request that it be removed from the invoice.
Overall, the unprofessionalism and lack of communication we experienced caused us considerable stress during a time that should have been joyful and seamless. We hope this feedback helps improve your services for future clients, as the venue itself was lovely, but the service and planning left much to be desired. We would appreciate your prompt attention to these issues, particularly the incorrect charges. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to...
Read moreAerial is located at South Wharf, not the easiest place to get to. It's a conference/wedding reception etc type place with a small lounge area at the ground floor entrance and a lift or flight of stairs up to the venue itself. Great views of the city are available through the large North facing windows surrounding the dining area. Upmarket, clean, modern look with white marble and floor to ceiling curtains along the walls in the reception area and high tech modern lighting with colour changing, moving ceiling lights, and hidden strip lighting in the walls. This gives a dynamic feel to the whole venue which can presumably be changed to suit the theme of the function. When i was there, they had roving ceiling spots in blue and yellow, presumably in sympathy with the Ukrainian tragedy taking place. Service was plentiful and staff were attentive and friendly. You can't get an Uber, Taxi, Limo, Public transport etc to the front door. Bit of a walk from any of the nearest roads, maybe 150metres. Only paid parking available anywhere in...
Read moreAwful wedding experience. Whilst the venue looks nice our experience with Food & Desire was awful. A change was made to our contract by the sales manager Sonya without notification and we found her difficult to deal with. The event managers were late to meetings, kept changing and were unhelpful. The tasting was overpriced, chairs were dirty and food was average. They also outsource the rigging/sound to a company that is equally overpriced. We considered cancelling and in hindsight I wish we had because we had visited other venues where the events team were lovely. All in all, the feeling they left us with was so bad I had to write a review and could never recommend this venue or Food &...
