Studio Coffee — Restaurant in Melbourne

The lady who took our order made us feel like we were inconveniencing her for ordering something altered. We asked for the bacon and egg roll with just the bacon and tomato sauce. It was served without the sauce. Asked for sauce and was given one tiny take away portion. Asked for it to be taken to the kitchen or could we borrow the kitchens bottle to apply it to the sandwich and the staff member who I asked looked absolutely terrified when she said she would have to go back and ask if this was possible. She came back with one tiny take away portion looking rather apologetic but scared. The original lady who took our order left drinks on the table and completely ignored us. Not so much as a smile! We asked for table water and was told they do not offer table water- you have to BUY a bottle. Absolutely ridiculous. They do not offer glasses to pour drinks into. There was ONE salt & pepper for the entire cafe to share. They took it off a table of other patrons to give to us which was rather awkward. The bacon in the big breakfast came out cold. We did not attempt to rectify this given the horribly cold nature of the lady who appears to be the manager or owner. She was utterly rude. We attended this cafe on Thursday and it was friendly and nice. The atmosphere with the presence of this lady was dramatically different. Would not return or recommend coming...

Very rude and aggressive behaviour towards me by an older man working there. We’ve never been there before and we sat down at the tables. We were rudely and aggressively told that we can’t sit there if we weren’t ordering something. First of all, I was trying to settle 2 young children first before getting a chance to look at what to order. I understand there are rules like this in places but there was no need to be rude about it and approach me quite close in my face. When I told him he was rude and we would leave, he continued to come up behind me yelling at me and saying inappropriate and irrelevant things. I actually felt like he was going to become physical due to how angry he was getting so quickly! He continued to follow us for 5-10 meters as we were walking away from the cafe. This type of behaviour is never ok, full stop. Avoid this place...

Very frustrating experience here. I walked up to the counter asking whether their fresh juices came in plastic cups, as I wanted to do a takeaway. The lady who I asked looked very confused and repeatedly insisted that they just came in ‘cups’, not really answering my question. I then asked if I dined-in, whether they would be served in a glass or something that wasn’t plastic, to which she replied that it just comes in a cup, again not answering my question. I then saw a waiter walk out with somebody’s juice in a plastic cup and giving it to someone sitting down, answering my question better than the lady at the counter. I honestly though it would have been a simple question...
