First time visit to Box Hill, I started with a breakfast visit to Tang and ordered the specialty wantons (12 pieces) in chicken soup. A short time later a big bowl of deliciousness is presented. The light chicken broth is perfect for your first meal of the day, flavoursome but not intense. It brings together the silky wantons encasing the meat filling. A very thin omlette is cut into noodle like strands to provide some body, along with strips of nori. Spring onions and a juicy cucumber like vegetable that is finely chopped at the bottom of the bowl round out the ingredients in this satisfying dish.
I also ordered the homemade scallion pancake. Crunchy on the outside, light flaky layers on the inside that encase a delicious pancake mix with the scallions. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Read moreFood was quite nice and very affordable. There might be better place with better flavour but with its price, you can't complain. The texture of the noodle was good, not too soft and not too hard. The flavour was decent. Portion was quite big for its price in my opinion.
However, service was a nightmare. I came in with my friends and got no reaction from the staff. The staff saw us walking in and took a glance then keep doing what he was doing. I had to ask for a table for two and he just nodded. Sat at our table not knowing what to do, we thought we had to order via QR since there was no instructions but turnt out there were physical menus. At this point, not a single word had been said from the staff, which left us clueless and had to figured out where the menu was ourself (we did try to ask but he did not answer).

Read moreFood: food was okay. The soup broth wasn't rich. The fried seaweed rice cakes had a nice texture but barely any flavour. The food here was honestly speaking tasteless. BUT the scallion fried pancake was delicious. The crispy texture and flavour was amazing.
Service: the service here was great though. Friendly staff willing to explain things and the orders came out quick.
Ambiance: the interior design is a nice minimalistic style with some ancient Chinese aesthetic on the back wall. The cutlery and water is self serve.
Recommend: if you don't mind having food with very little flavouring for a decentish price then everything else in this place is good, but personally I...
