Sunny weekends are back, why not stop @stjamesstkilda before heading to the beach or the Luna park!
Offering beautiful and delicious spring and summer delicacies in the menu from drinks to food, you’ll definitely wanna come back here again and again this summer.
What we had here: Banana pancakes, the best pancakes I’ve ever tried, the pancakes were incredibly light, airy and fluffy, and didn’t taste too sweet but was perfect with the banana flavour in it, raspberry sorbet made the pancakes taste even more decadent. Strongly recommend this one.
Chilli scrambled eggs were just perfect! The scrambled eggs were so creamy and tasty and with the chilli jam and the fried chrizo, it tasted really amazing. Must try.
St James smashed avo, this was really unique, served with croquettes, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, spinach pistachio hummus, goat’s feta, a fried salmon, which was cooked to utmost perfection. Definitely coming back for this one, the flavours were so wholesome and tempting. Must try.
Melbourne sunrise smoothie had the perfect tropical note to it, so refreshing to drink. Berry bliss was just berrilicious and very filling and yum.
The prices are very standard and the service is really attentive and prompt even on a busy weekend morning. The staff and the manager are such lovely, welcoming and kind folks. The vibe here is just peaceful and relaxing.
So do check them out @stjamesstkilda this weekend for a sumptuous brunch with your...
Read moreSunday, 11am. Super busy, chaotic. Waited 45-50 mins to get the food after we ordered. Noted a couple of tables who came in after us had their food served and a couple even finished and left, while we were still waiting for our food.
It seemed they were under staffed. While we received an apology and a complimentary drink and Sunday surcharge waived due to the long wait time, I want to raise the issue to the management. We wanted a good experience and this was not a good experience. The owners/ management needs to do better and plan better and staff well at least for busy hours. Prices are at the higher end, you do charge weekend surcharges, so owners should review their staffing issue, which has also been highlighted by other reviewers as well.
Food wise, Sandos were okayish at best, chilli scramble was good. The size of the mug of coffee was the same as regular as compared to most Melbourne cafes; that or the barista made a mistake cause 2 mug coffees and regular chai latte were almost...
Read moreI had walked past this shop many times , but hadn’t realised it had recently changed to Wedge Espresso . What a delightful experience to find a great cafe to enjoy a coffee and work from. The staff were extremely friendly and very prompt with their service . The coffee was lovely and the menu very reasonably priced (although a small menu) What I did love, was that the menu had a unique element of having “hug in a mug” with soup and a toastie. Things like this stand out from the other cafes in the area . Maybe wedge could consider some weekly specials to add a further variety to the smaller menu.
Will 100% go back again and...
