The restaurant has a lovely vibe and decor and it had been recommended by a colleague. The prices for the food were quite expensive in my opinion, but I had a 35% discount voucher through EatClub. The dumplings we had for starters were nice, but the laksa I had and the pad thai my friend had as a main were very mediocre. I went up to the waiter to tell him that I don't think my laksa was a laksa, that it tasted like tom yum soup with coconut milk. He misunderstood and said he definitely put down laksa not tom yum. I explained again that I understand he did that, but that it isn't actually laksa, it doesn't taste like laksa but a tom yum with coconut milk. Rather than asking if I'd like to order something else or apologising, he said that it definitely is laksa (despite my saying I have eaten a lot of laksas and I know what laksa is meant to taste like) and that he would get the chef to talk to me. He disappeared for a second and came back out and said they're too busy (the restaurant was not full). I went back to my friend and tried to eat more of my "laksa" (which also only had udon noodles, no vermicelli either) but stopped at half. If you have ever eaten a tom yum, you know how distinctive the flavour is. My friend said her pad thai tasted like something she might have made from a supermarket box, not from a restaurant or that it was like a pad thai you might eat from an RSL. I'm glad we had the discount because if I had paid full price for our meals I would have been even more disappointed. We paid $26 each with the 35% off but otherwise it would have been about $38 each. Won't...

Very disappointed with the New Wind experience. In the past, my partner and I loved going here with the great food and amazing service. However there may have been a change of management? last night we ordered from New Wind online, only to arrive and hear that the online platform doesn't seem to be working. After then processing another order in store and having a free roti bread added to the order, I was told to come back when it's ready. I waited about 30 mins only to be told that it would be another 20 mins...at this point I asked if the kitchen even received my second order and the manager wasn't able to give a very convincing reply. Meanwhile, I was instructed to wait at a table, however the people for the booking have arrived and I have to awkwardly leave as the manager just watches me hanging around. The food finally arrived after over an hour of waiting since originally putting the online order through. Got home to see that the San chow bow was missing the lettuce cups (key ingredient), the $37 prawn clay pot just consists of a sauce with 8 prawns and some red onion (absolute rip off) and there was no sauce with the roti bread. Really disappointed with how it was handled and the quality of the food and service and regrettably won't...

We came in for an early dinner, very friendly service, nice selection of wines by the glass & the Happy Hour $10 cocktail list was impressive, my wife had a lychee martini & loved it! And then there is the food...SO delicious it’s ridiculous! We ordered Roast Duck Baos, Satay Chicken skeweres & Mixed spring rolls & all were beautifully presented & tasted extremely fresh & packed full of flavour, as soon as I finished something I was immediately sad it was over, that’s how good it was!! For main course we ordered a Nasi Goren with BBQ Pork & a Classic Vitnamese vermicelli salad, again, both were sensational!! We finished with another 2 Roast Duck Baos, because they were SO YUM!!! We can’t wait to return here as there were so many other things we wanted to try! Highly recommend this place, great service, great quality food & drinks all at a very affordable price....hence 5*...

The worst Vietnamese experience ever. The service made us speechless from the beginning till the end. They got the order wrong- we ordered Tofu Mee Goreng but they brought Tofu Nasi Goreng. They didn’t even apologise and refused to listen when we tried to explain. When we got Mee Goreng, it was extremely salty and the veggies were uncooked. It was $18 but it was worse than the ones you could get at a noodle take away shop. We also ordered a tom-yum noodle soup but it was way too sweet this time and my friend couldn’t finish it. Two of my friends ordered coconut juices but one came with a piece of lemon and the other didn’t. This restaurant does not seem to have its own boundaries and they do not know how to impress their customers...

I was really looking forward to trying out this restaurants food, as I’ve walked past a few times and it’s smelt amazing. Now I’m Not sure if it was because I attended on a Friday evening but this would have to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had on chapel st. It was very busy (to busy for them to handle) so I expected a wait but to wait nearly an hour for food and over two hrs for one drink (we where finished our meal and asked for the bill before it arrived.) this place was filled with obnoxious screaming 20somethings pulling chairs from anywhere they could find and treating it like a nightclub. The staff had absolutely no control. The food was average and not worth the price. I won’t be coming back.

One of those nights where everything is spot on. The food: perfect temperature, interesting but balanced flavours, very good seasoning, richness and the final comforting feeling. We had the duck curry, the char kway teow and a Pho. We are planning to go back to try more things in the menu. I loved the vibe of the place, and hitting the happy hour was the bonus! But the thing that made everything to fall into place was that feeling of being welcome. Victor and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful in every request we had. And from the manager, you see right away the effort and love she's put into it.
