Shippys Cafe — Restaurant in Mildura

Had thought we were in for a task to get a nice breakfast, but wandered down to the riverside this Monday queen's birthday morning and were pleasantly surprised. The night before a lot was closed!?Anyway this is an interesting use for a container, dunno how they got it all into it but they did.The spot is a lovely riverside sunny and shady venue, so both bits taken care of. Pleasant staff and good coffee. I had the beans for breakfast and they were pretty good with nice bread. My liked her breakfast of some sort of egg thing, can't remember what but she was happy. Perfect spot for a crisp sunny winter's morning for a couple from Melbourne who thought they were going to be disappointed.Really...

We went to this cafe for lunch on our travel thru Mildura, after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. I noted it was actually a converted shipping container, not a caravan, but Cafe de Shipping Container, just doesn't sound the same! Staff are friendly, food was delivered to the table promptly. The two burgers we ordered were delicious and salad was fresh and the meat patty juicy, considering it was likely pre-cooked to assist in faster delivery. Prices are very reasonable too. The only issue we had was the hot day, but not much the proprietors can do about that!

In summary, if we are traveling in the Mildura area again, we will add the Cafe de Caravan to our itinerary for...

Anyone visiting Mildura from Melbourne or interstate would absolutely appreciate the amazing food and beverage at Shippys Cafe. Awesome 👍 views of the river and bridge, with houseboats moored on the riverbank. My daughter treated me to a birthday lunch and my toasted BLT was a pleasure to eat. Come and explore and experience for yourself, the atmosphere here at Shippys and taste some yummy food and an awesome...
