Drake and Duck Cafe — Restaurant in New South Wales

Nice energy with people chatting and music that isn’t too loud to have a conversation. Tables are appropriately spaced- you’re not right on top of each other and although most were full it seems people were quite settled- there wasn’t a constant stream of people coming in and out which may pull attention away from a conversation. That is to say, it definitely has more of a ‘sit and stay’ vibe than takeaway, although both are offered. Everything looked very clean, including the glimpse I got of the kitchen. Tables were cleared promptly and wiped down with a disinfectant spray of some description.

For solo diners or those who prefer to sit looking out a window there is a nice view across the road of Machattie Park. At the moment the trees are a nice golden yellow as autumn makes way for winter.

Service was friendly and I was asked if I wanted to have my coffee (Fish River Roasters) and bacon and egg roll ready at the same time or if I wanted my coffee first. This was nice as I was having take away and I personally prefer not to have my coffee getting cold while I wait for food if I intend to consume both elsewhere.

Prices were quite reasonable as was the wait...

I felt compelled to review the Drake and Duck after seeing a few negative reviews. The total star rating is just not an accurate reflection of the quality of this place.

Firstly, if this place wasn’t great - it wouldn’t be so busy. Maybe the regulars aren’t leaving reviews, because this place has many!

Secondly, the prices are very affordable and they provide a good, consistent, tasty breakfast that is prepared quickly. It’s just what you need for Brekky - it’s perfect and not over the top. You can actually eat everything on your plate. The coffee is also bang on!

This is a great place for parents with teens to take their kids, without having to take out a loan to pay for it. It’s a bit of a hidden secret.

These guys are clearly very experienced in hospitality. I can’t fathom the negative reviews because we have been here so many times and it’s never been anything...

I recently had the misfortune of breakfast at Drake and Duck Cafe in Bathurst, and my experience was nothing short of disastrous. The manager, Dilup, was extremely rude and unprofessional. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff was disorganized and lacked knowledge about their menu. When I asked simple questions about the dishes, they seemed clueless and unprepared. The food quality was subpar, and the presentation was unappealing. It seemed like they threw ingredients together without any care or attention to detail. But what really ruined our experience was Dilup's attitude. When I politely brought my concerns to his attention, he became defensive and dismissive. His demeanor was unacceptable, and his lack of customer service skills...
