Unpleasant experience! We ordered crumbed fish but the lady was distracted answering a phone call, it seems she didn't listen our requests. When we sat down on our table, the people next to us were complaining about their food, they received buttered fish instead so, I quickly run to the cashier to make sure our fish order was correct. She said: You didn't tell me how you wanted it cooked so I assumed it was buttered, but I will let know the kitchen.
After a couple of minutes, she came to us saying the fish was being cooked already and there was nothing to do. We said we didn't want buttered but crumbed. She went back to her boss, and he came to our table to say the same thing.... The fish was already made, and they were not going to change it.
It is unacceptable that a restaurant do not make their customers comfortable and accept their mistakes. They refused to make any change not giving any solution, we received the food and.... What a disgrace!!!!! The fish was soggy, flooded in oil, the Chips were overcooked in a over-used oil that made them look brown instead of a nice freshly crispy chip.
The fish was with the skin on, so the skin full of oil made the piece unpleasant to eat. We had to remove all the skin with that thick butter (disgusting) and try to eat the little flesh remaining.
They didn't even apologize, they practically said (with their expressions): "eat it or leave it" but NO refund.
I do not recommend this place at all, Do Not waist your money.
If you're the kind of person that don't mind eating rubbish, then expend your money in...

If you're in the mood for a culinary adventure that leaves you questioning your life choices, SelFish Fish n Chips is the place to be! I bravely ordered the $22 "see" food basket for one, and boy, did I "see" my mistake.
Picture this: a fusion of flavors so disappointing, it was like an underwater boxing match – everything tangled together in a wrestling match of overcooked and oily chaos. The cooking method seemed to involve dunking everything into a vat of oil that expired when disco was still in fashion.
The chips? Oh, they were practicing for "Australia’s Gone Crispy" – completely dried out and oily, only good to be used as a table wedge for this wobbly tables. My food had formed a community, sticking together like they were family, making it nearly impossible to tell a prawn from a calamari.
After two audacious bites, I decided to gift the remainder to the local seagulls, who looked at the offering and, I kid you not, actually hesitated. I could almost hear them negotiating: "You try it, no you try it!"
In summary, SelFish Fish n Chips is the spot for anyone who feels a profound sense of nostalgia for culinary mishaps. Save your money, skip the heartburn, and let this trash pit remain a mystery. Who knew a trip to the fish n chips shop could be more disappointing than an empty...
Read moreBusy fish and chips shop with lovely staff. There was a huge line which moved slow but the food didn't take too long to come out which was nice.
Food: We got a few different items and it was all very tasty. The fish of the day was flathead and the fish was cooked perfectly, except the batter wasnt very nice so I wish I got grilled or crumbed. Kids chicken tenders are big, real chicken pieces, a tiny bit dry but great flavour. The works burger was packed and super saucey. Calamari was big and cooked great with no stringy bits. Chips were crispy and hot, really yum.
Service: All the staff were very lovely, our server was friendly and helpful. The pick up counter was also very nice and although the ordering was a little slow, the chef's out back were getting those orders out quick.
Atmosphere: Plenty of parking in the area and it's right next to the water so you can eat at the venue or walk down to the park and enjoy your meal with a view. The front was in full sun so it was very hot waiting in the queue and most of the seating at the front would be too hot to eat at but it's a cute shack...
