I was only going to get a chai with almond milk & hazelnut syrup in it. But I got chips, regret that idea. Don't want to do that again 😒 the chai was just warm. I said it was & can she make it hotter please, did, I couldn't taste the syrup at all. Got chips & there was oil dripping out of the cardboard thing, I said, "Oh yuck a lot of oil". She said I'll put it in a cardboard container. I got that & I wish I returned them. MOST of them were dark brown, oily & hard, not like chips. I gave most to the seagulls, which went crazy around me. Told the girl about it & she just handed me more & said these might be better. I said, "I hope so." Some were ok, I threw out about 15 of the tray of them. A bit later, I felt sick in the stomach for hours & on the lavatory & felt like throwing up last night.

I used to get chips there in 2020 & 2021 now & then when I was there a lot & and walked, they were really good. A friend got some in Dec, I was there, they were overcooked, and weren't that good then.

I ordered a small matcha and small iced chai on Easter Friday ($20.25), I understand public holidays are busy but I wasn’t told a wait time and it ended up being 30 minutes. The matcha was disgusting and extremely pale, I have ordered matcha from most places in Newcastle and this was the worst by a long, long shot. I politely asked for a refund as I found it undrinkable (especially for $10), the girls were hesitant and only offered to add extra matcha (which I saw in the bottle, and looked gross). I hesitated but accepted as I felt bad and they didn’t offer anything else, and of course it didn’t help at all. I ended up leaving the matcha on the bench and leaving, there was no offer for a refund then either. Very disappointing experience for a gross drink. Interesting choice to be understaffed on a public holiday as well (1 girl taking orders and 1 making drinks). Ignorant, rude staff ! Staff didn't acknowledge that my daughter and myself were at the counter , not even making eye contact when we asked if they were still making food ( the shop was opened so we went in) we were told only chips , muffins and fresh fruit cups which we bought the chips and fruit. The fruit was slimy so i went back over to the opened window to let the staff know and to get a refund, after not being very discrete with their whispering about me returning the stringy , slimy fruit, the girl told me they had more, gave it to me then very smugly said " is that to your satisfaction?" I did not appreciate the rude, sarcastic comment , I relied " i'm sorry but it's all slimy and stringy liquid on it " she then offered the two left over muffins which turned out to be like rocks they were so dry.
