Incredibly disappointed, booked for 10 peope online after looking up several cafes in the area as we aren't locals and chose The Beehive based on their menu as I have a severe egg allergy and they had a few items I would be able to have and a kids menu for the children. Drove 1 hour 20mins to meet family here for brunch and when we arrived they no longer offered a childrens menu and when I asked about the items on their online menu they said oh sorry thats the old owners menu and we haven't taken it down yet. The cafe also had the old menu on a massive black board and when I asked about items on that, I was also told they haven't changed it yet. I spoke with the manager and explained about my allergy and why I had picked their cafe and asked if she could help suggest items I could have, which I was told they couldn't guarantee cross contamination and wouldn't be able to offer me anything. I suggested what about just a deconstructed bowl from items on the menu so Avocado, Tomato, smoked Salmon etc just so I could have something with my family and was told they don't modify their menu. Wow... in 2022 for a cafe not to care or cater for food allergies is not acceptable, I then had to tell my family that they couldn't cater for me and we had to leave and find somewhere that would. Not quite the special brunch we had planned. I would not recommend this cafe especially if you have any allergies or food...

Went for what was meant to be a nice Mother's day breakfast, to be told upon arrival we were an hour late for our booking, even though we were sent a confirmation email 36 hrs prior confirming our time slot. Showed the front of house said email, her response was "Must be a glitch in the system, cause we had you down for 7:30" and left us standing there after her very condescending "I'm just so sorry lovely" apology but never once tried to offer a solution or get managment to sort the situation. Then, only after I had to make a scene as we were just being ignored, we were offered a bar to sit at, which I made clear I was not happy with, as we didn't all meet here to not converse over our breakfast and sit in a row, but before we even got to make a decision, they preceded to seat another family there, right in front of us. So I then made the comment "I guess we can't have that seat either?" She walked off on us and never came back, and left us standing there for about 5 minutes, with absolutely no recognition, until we walked away. Would have been nice to have a senior staff member come and admit they'd made a mistake and offered a sincere apology. So thanks, Beehive, for my worst dining experience ever, I didn't even step foot inside your...

We arrived early in the morning for breakfast at the bee hive. We were the only two people in the cafe at the time and waited an hour+ for our food (Bacon/Eggs and Corn Fritters). Initially, we were told we would have to wait a short time for our food because they “were doing other things” and “trying to fix the coffee machine”. About 45 minutes later, the same staff member approached us and asked us how our food was, which surprised us because we hadn’t received our food yet - they obviously forgot our order (which is hard to imagine because we were the only people in the cafe). When we suggested we were going to leave because we had to check out of our hotel, we were approached by another staff member and were told “the gas stopped working” and it would be another five minutes. About 10 minutes later, the food came out. The food was good but very expensive for what it was. The staff were not attentive and did not seem to care that we had been waiting so long and did not inform us about the gas issue until we asked what was going on. The coffee machine was broken and was making a loud screeching sound the entire time we were in the cafe, making it hard to hear each...

The food we had was good, but definitely overpriced. We ordered the Big Breakfast for $36 and the Eggs Fostister (I believe that’s the name) for $27, which is more expensive than the average prices in Australia. The Big Breakfast was decent, though the bacon was overcooked. Everything else was tasty, but again, the price felt too high for what we got. For the Eggs Fostister, I found the portion of hollandaise sauce to be a bit lacking. The dish included bread, spinach, eggs, mushrooms, hollandaise, and some greens for garnish. Considering the ingredients, I think the price was a bit inflated. The White Chocolate Mocha was delicious—smooth, not overly sweet, and just the right balance. However, the wait time was quite long. We waited 15 minutes for our drink and over 40 minutes for the breakfast. On the bright side, the atmosphere was pleasant. The music was nice, the place was clean, and sitting outside gave us a lovely view of the water. Overall, our total bill came to $80, including a 10% surcharge due to the public holiday. While the food was decent, the high prices and long wait times made it feel less worth it.

Disappointing experience overall—food and service-wise. Food was flavourless and mediocre (watery, unsalted and unseasoned eggs), the corn “fritters” were floppy pancakes with bits of corn niblets inside (also flavourless), and the banana bread was served with an ice cold chunk of butter on top which was un-spreadable. Their matcha was low quality, bitter, and weirdly filled with loose tea leaves floating around. Their white chocolate mocha was enjoyable, however! The servers seemed disorganized and were inattentive—many tables left dirty and weren’t reset. At one point I myself got up to bus another patron’s table as they had been served food without any cutlery (and had been unsuccessfully trying to flag down a waiter to get some for 5 mins). Extremely overpriced for a lacklustre and mediocre brunch. The location is beautiful and the restaurant itself is very cute but they really need to improve their food quality and service.

I'm sure I've never received a meal so quickly in my life. Our 4 meals came within 12mins of ordering, I thought that was pretty impressive. It was soon evident how this lightning fast phenomenon was able to occur.. The poached eggs were obviously pre-poached maybe as far back as yesterday and possibly refrigerated overnight because they were as rubbery as an old handball and trying to cut through stiff cold bacon rind still on with an unserrated knife is as ridiculously frustrating as it sounds. It was a shame actually.. The meals looked great and my mum loved her pumpkin bruschetta but I do not rate the Big Beehive Breakfast especially not for $25 and it wasn't even made fresh to order - disappointing 👎
