Do not waste your time and money at this place.

Visited Lime Cafe Darwin yesterday for lunch, expecting the same wonderful service and food I had experienced over my holiday beautiful Darwin.

Not so.

Disappointing, will remember this as THE WORST experience I have EVER had at a cafe or restaurant, anywhere!

We had been waiting almost an hour for a salad and wrap. After enquiring about the delay, only one of the 2 meals ordered came out. A wilted chicken avo salad which you would not eat.

After having waited so long, I politely asked the female owner for my money back as still waiting for the wrap and was not happy with the salad which had been literally thrown down in front of me.

I was subsequently abused by the female owner/manager with her literally waving the receipt in my face and her pointing to the time of my order printed on it. She launched into an abusive tirade for all to hear, yelling at me that I had not been waiting an hour but only 55 minutes and that in a tourist area I should expect this.

Earlier, a request to switch on ceiling fans because of heat and flies was denied and the remote was thrown at me for me to turn on as she said they were too busy making coffees. Gobsmacked, on reflection, I should have known to leave at that earlier point.

Diners were left astonished by this woman’s disgusting display and many came to ensure I was ok and walked out of the cafe as my husband and I did.

Please don’t give this place your time and money. Appalling behaviour, no service,...

Very busy cafe, lots of people seated outside. Only one service till, quite slow ordering process. Food is delicious, once it comes out. 40-45minute wait on food. Lots of staff, but no real order. People are doubling up on tasks. Poor communication between all the team. People walking around with no real purpose. Witnessed a waitress bring out my order to the table beside me, they said it wasn’t there’s but she said you can just have it. I ended up having to go back to till to get a refund after waiting so long. Quite disappointed. No real apology.

01/07 - Terrible. I’m incredibly slow service. Order placed at 0949, arrived at table 1111, even after frequent reminders that I was still waiting.

Told were waiting on more bacon. The whole order had clearly been prepared while waiting as every item on the plate was freezing cold.

Complete disorganisation. Not enough table numbers for customers. Staff walking around with food calling out peoples names. Chef/kitchen staff yelling out the back, having to be told to be quite by front manager, multiple times.

Requested refund of a $64 order. Had the cashier attempt to charge me for coffee, as we received them.

Possibly the worst cafe experience I have ever had. This was the second time I have been here, both times - same...

We were really disappointed in the food and service here. We had to ask for water to be brought to the table three times. If you’re too busy to handle water service, make a self serve water station. Also as I write this, their fire alarm is going off. Not sure what’s happening in the kitchen back there. Anyway, my friend and I both ordered the eggs Benedict. Mine was actually okay, but my friends was very clearly over cooked and the eggs didn’t run at all. The sauce was too light as well especially since the eggs didn’t run. She asked for more sauce and they agreed but didn’t seem very happy about it. They brought it out cold. She was pretty disappointed and didn’t finish her meal. She’s never unable to finish her eggs benny so that’s a pretty bad sign. We actually thought this place was so cute we had planned to come back and eat some of the pastries after we had a swim... but, we won’t be back. And PLEASE consider using eco friendly straws and cups. Your cafe is right on the ocean. (A bird in your cafe has a straw in its...

I recently visited Lime Café on the Esplanade in the Darwin waterfront Precinct for a quick breakfast and coffee. The location is quite relaxing, with a lovely view of the grass and water, making for a pleasant atmosphere. While the café has received some negative reviews in the past, I was pleased to find that my experience was quite positive. The service was good, and the quality of my meal was satisfying. My only suggestion would be that the presentation of my dish could have been elevated with a bit more attention to detail. However, the flavors were exceptional, and I would definitely order it again. The coffee was enjoyable, and the smoothie I had was refreshing. Overall, I would happily return for both the meal and the calming vibe of the café.

From the look on approach it is a very pretty looking cafe and seemed to have a good number of people waiting. I did have to wait about two minutes for some to acknowledge I was at the counter but it did give me time to look at the food cabinet of food which looked pretty tempting. Upon paying my $4.30 for a small coffee I was kind of disappointed with its size, especially once the froth died down. Had I seen the knocked over cup to show the sizes I might have checked out the nearby cafes to see if my dollar might go further. Eco friendly cups are an upside. Coffee was also quite nice but not worth the price. Nice area though but next time I will probably have a wander before coming back.
