Been ordering from Okay restaurant for about two years both in store and on uber eats, my brother and I get the same thing every single time, the plain rice and crispy chicken for me, and he gets the special rice with beef, today my brother went in store to buy food and got the exact same thing we usually get, he got the food and came home only to realise we had been given the wrong order as he was given seafood instead of prawns when we called the store the lady we spoke to was very rude and said that was what we ordered, instead of going back and forth I decided I would just have the seafood, but when I opened the container I realised it was all veg and 2 pieces of prawns I called them back to complain that the dish was predominantly veg, still they argued on the phone I told them we were coming g back and we wanted a refund , my brother went back again alone and they refused to give him a refund, and my brother ended up having to BUY another crispy chicken and as if to add salt to Injury they told him you can have the prawns for dinner, never coming back again horrible...
Read morePretty disappointed this time if I'm honest. And not with the food. The meal was good. Combination Laksa and Stuffed Chicken wings, lovely. As they have been when I've had them here in the past. But tonight as i arrived to collect my meal, i was greeted (if you can call it being greeted at all) by blank stares and negative energy from the staff. I was wearing a mask for my own and other safety as theres new waves of Covid around, i opened the door gently and closed it again also gently. When i presented my phone saying "I have a takeaway order to collect" they equally wordlessly looked through the 2 orders waiting, before handing my order to me and then returning to the stoic stare they had before. I've never been made to feel so unwelcome at a restaurant before. I sincerely hope i don't have this experience again, but it will be some time before i bother taking the...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Okay. I normally go to Tra Vinh or Thanh Dat which are nearby for my Pho fix. I have previously left positive reviews for both of these restaurants which I think serve the best Pho in town. Can Okay do better?
First up, the Pho broth is downright tasty, easily the equal of Thanh Dat and better than Tra Vinh. It is more beefy and rich but less sweet and less herby than Thanh Dat. It is much of a muchness which one is better, it depends if you prefer a lighter herbier style or a beefier style. They are also the most generous restaurant in town when it comes to how much meat you find in your Pho. There really is a lot of it. The meat is good quality, but it can not beat the beef short rib or the A5 Wagyu Pho in Thanh Dat.
The stuffed fried chicken wings is not as good as the competition, but it is still very good and will not disappoint.
Definitely...
