Sushi Hub on St George’s Terrace offers a convenient pit stop for the CBD’s weekday business crowd, thanks to its central location. The takeaway counter presents the usual selection you’d expect—nigiri, rolls, and other familiar favourites—but unfortunately, the experience leaves a lot to be desired.
Service is fast but feels rushed and impersonal, more focused on throughput than hospitality. The nigiri I purchased was average at best, lacking the freshness and finesse you’d hope for. The sushi rolls were poorly assembled—overstuffed with rice and oddly shaped—which made them awkward to eat. To make matters worse, the side of mayo was congealed and had formed a skin, making it instantly unappetising.
The restaurant itself could really use some attention. Discarded plate lids were left around, and there was a noticeable build-up of grime that made the place feel untidy and uninviting.
All in all, while Sushi Hub might be convenient, there are definitely better options within walking distance if you’re after quality sushi and a cleaner, more pleasant...
Read moreVery nice foods as always. However, very disappointed with the poor customer service. Initially staff A misled us with the terms and conditions of the buffet as she was saying we can order unlimited orders on the menu.
Apparently, SushiHub has their own definition of “unlimited orders” - you can ONLY order ONCE with unlimited amount of food from the menu. Which we were informed differently by staff A.
Then, staff B with glasses admitted that it was her colleague’s fault for the false explanation, and she told us off by saying “think about it, we are busy and how can I keep coming to you and take your orders?”.
She was being extremely rude ever since. She kept picking on us and gave us an attitude whenever we asked for services. The tension was there throughout the dining experience.
Recommend: Never dine in, just takeaway if you wanna maintain your good mood...
Read moreLove their portions and selections. But extremely busy at peak hrs. The system requires that you wait in line even if you are just ordering one item and know exactly what you want. The cashier is often not occupied but the servers at the sushi display are working as hard as they can. As a result, queues spill into the pavements.
My suggestion is to perhaps create a one-item queue for those who don’t need to select several items at the display. The queue is the only turn off and they are a lot better than sushi sushi which has gone downhill for a while (disappearing portions and dishonest long-grained rice for sushi?!).
Pls keep up the quality of the foods, and consider splitting the queues to avoid turning away customers. Otherwise...
