Okay to start, it's in a great spot. Elizabeth Quay is nice and there's plenty of shade. Secondly it's free so that's great.
But for a "Water park" there really isn't that much water. We parked up and walked through the city, arriving at around 1015am. During a full 40 minutes, the water was on sporadically for a grand total of maybe 5 minutes. And mostly that was two of the smallest sections of water jets spraying out at the lowest pressure.
It was so intermittent even the kids there could be heard saying "oh come on" and "is that it?" The short bursts of water were followed by very long stretches of absolutely no water. Kids were arriving and running around totally dry for 10 minutes before a short 1 minute spray of water.
Not sure if there's a system fault or what, but they ought to change the name to BHP Disappointment Park since there were a lot more kids being let down than...

Read moreMy sister's kids and I had a good time. Lots of shade to sit and watch as the kids ran around in the water. Our biggest issues are that all the cafes were closed (or closed down) so I had a big walk to get us a coffee, and also, the water turned off every so often so the kids had to wait for it to come back on. When it's hot out, that's a bit of a painful wait - kids were laying in puddles trying to stay cool. It's still a fun time, but come prepared with beverages in hand, and be prepared to wait...
