Great peaceful place, love to go and eat great food and get some work done on the lappy .
One thing that would be appreciated tho is some staff that are actually interested in working... For flip sake they have possibly the best outlook of any cafe in Australia , a simple smile would go a long way.. it can't be that bad to work here.. walking up to the counter and just being looked at with a whatdoyawant dummy vibe isn't an ideal way to get the day off on a good foot . Another thing that I'd like to see improve is the greetings from one of the members at the front desk (cough Tanya) Sometimes I feel it's easier to clear customs than come into this club.. pretty much being yelled at for my membership card. Definitely don't feel like a member 😂
This being said , you do have some of the nicest and most genuine staff working at this place which really keeps me coming back ! I'm not trying to sound like an entitled snob , just genuinely want to see this place improve! The frustrations of being understaffed is also something to consider when keeping a positive workforce. For example the cafe currently has roughly 60 people with only 3 staff working 🤔 I'm not expert but that just screams of...
Read moreHave just enjoyed a light afternoon tea here with my mum, we're visiting from Sydney. The venue is really lovely with a modern beachside vibe, excellent water views of Hastings River. Mum had the "Devonshire Tea" (tea and a scone with jam and cream) and said it was delicious, good sized light and fluffy warm scone with ample jam and cream. I had the bruschetta and a glass of wine. Wine was tasty and the bruschetta was extremely delicious. (Photo posted separately) Would definitely come back here next time we visit Port. 4 out of 5 stars only because they brought the scones and tea out well before the bruschetta. Had mum waited to eat at the same time as me, hers would have been cold. That would be our only minor criticism otherwise though, overall very pleasant experience. Service from staff was warm and friendly. Looking forward to...
Read moreWe haven't been to Westport Bowling club for many years so decided to take a break and have a coffee and cake. On arrival it was very pleasant and friendly. We ordered 2 long blacks, hubby had Vanilla slice with cream ,I had a Muffin, heated, costing $25 all up. Hubby's Vanilla slice was part frozen ,which told us that it was a pre pack like you get from Coles/ Woolworths, my Muffin was average, a little dry. Our Coffee's took a little while to come, but the gentleman who served it was also the maker of the Coffee, he was very apologetic as he didn't have staff to serve, I think his name was Sunny. Lovely man and the coffee was hot and full of flavour. Overall, the Coffee was the best, 10/10 Vanilla slice , give it a 2 , Muffin 5. Very...
