Sanco Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in South Fremantle

Absolutely delightful little hidden gem tucked away quietly in South Fremantle. On the surface you wouldn't even know it's here.. it's discretely hidden away and I only stumbled across it by accident.. but it was worth the drop in.

The photos shared here don't really do this establishment any justice. At night time it is a quaint, comfortable and ambient setting - perfect for that romantic date night.

The staff are as you would expect - absolutely lovely kind and gentle Japanese people who do their best to accommodate you as if you're a high roller.. it really is wonderful. Even though they close at 9, I just observed a couple walk in at 8.57, and they still went to the effort of accommodating them.

The food is simply delightful. Every attention to detail has been given here and each ingredient is carefully prepared and you could taste each component just bursting with flavour, even down to the Miso soup. We had a Wagyu and a Salmon Donburi along with the Agedashi Tofu and it was all top tier. Even the Genmaicha was of a quality you just don't see often in Perth.

Pricing is good, we are full to the brim on less than $35pp.

Fantastic local Japanese in Perth and our new favorite (having eaten at Nobu, Jaws, Marumo, Modern Eatery and others!) Visited on a Thursday night and asked for the Momo set menu in advance. Fantastic value for $77 per person. Each person received a fill tapas selection, tempura vegetable, sashimi, and their choice of main followed by a matcha ice cream. Place was BYO as well. Highlights of the menu included: The sweet and sour pumpkin and octopus (hubby loved the duck and chicken too), the Tempura was en point for taste and texture, sashimi was beautifully fresh (scallop and salmon in particular) and the Grilled Eel was the winner between it and the Tuna don. Service was quick but well paced and very polite (Japanese servers), attention to detail in plating was fantastic. If there is any room for improvement, it would simply be in the Dessert. We would've actually enjoyed some Red bean with the Ice cream but maybe another option would be good to. 100%...

Amazing restaurant with quality Japanese food. Food were well presented and have a very cozy atmosphere. Great for a date or a small gathering with families and friends.

The staff are friendly, accommodating and very attentive. They realised I was missing a dish in my entrees basket and offered 2x the quantity.

They do Set Menu degustation on Friday and Saturday only and is definitely worth it. The chefs are skilled at creating beautiful and flavourful dishes. Sashimi are particularly fresh and sushi are delicious. Had the Sakura set and love all aspect of it. Firstly served with entrees in a basket, tapas plates, sushi and dessert.
