This place has stolen our hearts!

The food here was so good that we had dinner here two nights in a row. (As you'll read in other reviews, we're not the only ones who've done so!)

We ordered the Seafood Chowder, Beef Cheek Ragu with Home-made Gnocchi, Porterhouse Steak, but the best dishes were the Low & Slow-smoked Beef Short Rib, and Low & Slow-smoked Pork Ribs.

Fall-off-the-bone tenderness, bursting with smoky flavor.

Dare I say, they're some of the best I've had! The only place in Brisbane I've had at the same level is Frankie's Smokehouse. No other places I've visited in Brisbane have had this quality.

For the sides - their coleslaw had a hint of garlic which surprisingly made a huge difference to the usual tangyness I've had at other Barbeque places. Fries are fluffy and beer battered, our toddler loved them.

We also had the Sticky Date Pudding with Vanilla Ice-cream as a dessert to share. Perfect way to finish our meal.

If you're looking for a dining experience in Caloundra that will give you a full belly and a happy smile, The Thirsty Beaver is the place to be.

$25 steak chips, salad, sauce, beautiful nice ice cold beer. good rump served fresh off the chargrill, fresh salad, creamy dressing, hot crunchy chips, probably the best value and taste, and easy location. UNFORTUNATELY When i ordered the meal and beer, I adked for the beer to come out with thd meal. The beer was put up strait away. I said with my meal please 2nd time The beer was put to the side. I explained that I DONT WANT that same beer with my meal . The meal came out with a fresh beer. The steak was rare pushing blue ‘cooked’ please refer to photo. I asked for a container, and showed how undercooked the steak was. I WAS not asked if i would like to have it cooked further or a replacement meal. The staff wanted us out of the restaurant asap we spent over $300 on meals and were not told it closed at 8.30. It was school holidays and the music festival was on. We were celebrating my wife’s mothers 80th birthday and were not told that the kitchen was closing so no desert as the kitchen was closed. The staff tried to take our plates before we had finished eating because they wanted to pack up. We were ushered out of the place as well as others when the business could probably made another $200 to $300 dollars with the amount of people that were told to leave.
