Photo's on menu board should honestly depict what you are getting for your money, but that's not the case with this business.
Ordered Satay and paid $22, + more for extra meat only to get home and find little more than just plain cooked noodles in the bowl. Absolutely not worth even a 1/4 of the money I paid. Had to cook my own chicken as well as stir fry veg & add it to the noodles to make it a palatable meal. The photo's I've included show what I received, and how I had to 'fix' it.
Also very, noteworthy is the chicken is definitely not real chicken AT ALL. It was opaque with a very spongy gelatinous like texture. I can only guess at what it actually was 🤢
I contacted the shop to discuss the issues, only to be told that "Menu board photos are for illustration purposes only!" They've even added a sign to their front counter that says the very same thing now. 😳 Wow, this is a very unethical & dodgy business mindset.
So please, don't pay good money & expect to get what your eyes see on the board! ... This is DISGRACEFUL. If I could leave ZERO stars I would. So disappointed in paying a premium price & getting very little & STILL having to cook on...
Read moreDon’t bother wasting your $. I’ve given this place at least 5 chances over the last 2yrs. Every time the Pad Thai was different yet just acceptable. Today was the end for me, it was just slop. No nice sweet/sour/savoury, just an overpowering lemon flavour & salt making it uneatable. $3.50 extra for 4 small pieces of broccoli & handful of celery. No egg. Thin carrot just doesn’t cut it as a replacement for bean sprouts. Watching it being made seen lots of salt & white sugar added. Very basic vegetables available & the sauce lacks it’s true flavour, have no idea why it was lemon. They need to stop watering down the sauce to make it sloppy, stop adding so much salt & white sugar. Won’t worry me again as I’ll never step foot in there again & wont recommend...
Read moreThere are a few Asian places nearby which looked ok. Jow seemed to have more locals so we went there instead. Everything was cooked fresh in front of us and watching the cooks work was mesmerizing!
Food was lovely, well priced and big serves. We got a laksa, pork fried rice and a hokkien noodle dish. It fed two of us (I had two full plates and we have left overs for lunch!)
Can't recommend it highly enough. The only thing I could see which might be a very very small negative is a 50cent surcharge for EFTPOS which I would be happy to pay for the quality and price of the meals and definitely not enough to drop my rating from a full 5 stars.
Wholeheartedly recommend Jow for a variety of Asian dishes with seafood, red meat and veggie...
