Had dinner here for the first time and it won’t be our last! We were celebrating my bday and wanted Italian food locally but somewhere we haven’t been before. So started randomly googling restaurants around the local area. Reviews looked good and photos on social media looked delicious so we decided to give it a try. Very satisfied - the food was delicious and we enjoyed most dishes. Lamb skewers were juicy and tender, simple seasoning of salt and lemon was more than enough. The pizza was very well balanced - base was delicious and nicely charred - their chilli oil was a fantastic accompaniment with the pizza. The prawns were amazing, the sauce was velvety smooth and super rich in flavor, mopped up every bit of sauce with the bread. The blue swimmer crab Tortello was the highlight dish of the night - super generous serving - packed with flavor, and just a really complete and hearty dish. The Scampi risotto was a slight let down, the scampis were on the smaller side and slightly over cooked and the risotto was a touch on the bland side. All in all, a really good feed. Only two down sides to mention which hindered it getting the additional star; it was a long wait at the front door, we were waiting at the front for quite a long and awkward amount of time before anyone acknowledged us, it actually took a patron at the restaurant to point out to wait staff that we were waiting. Also, a bit of a delay between entrees and mains. Other than that - good to find another local gem!

Good food, quality service and really good and relaxing atmosphere! I lives just a block from the restaurant and was really looking forward to its opening. While I was disappointed by XS Espresso next door, Banx made a strong first impression; The overall atmosphere in particular resonated with me: music is very good, not overly loud and sets up a relaxing mood. and seeing the waiters busy walking around and paying attention to all tables reminded me of some high end brasseries in Paris. Staff was very professional, responsive and full of energy. I saw them being all hands on deck to accommodate a disabled customer: being disabled myself, I really appreciated seeing their attention and professionalism. Food can be quite pricey outside pizzas (pastas are all > $30 and mains are all > $40) so I just went for a pizza… and it was one of the the best I had in years: quality ham, fresh mushrooms and truffle oil on a fine crust. The only thing that tarnished the experience a little was being charged $4 for tap water. Regardless, I’m now really looking forward to coming back for a more pricey dinner next time I have something to celebrate with fiends.

Beautiful interiors and great service. Unfortunately the dishes were a hit or miss. - Buffalo mozzarella, it tastes like it was bought from a supermarket, it's firm and hard and served with tomato and cooked eggplant, I've had better buffalo mozzarella. Not like the ones from other Italian restaurants which are creamy and soft - Spaghetti vongole (seafood) was tasty, protein well cooked, the pasta itself is cooked al dente - Gnocchi, avoid this dish. Good gnocchi should be pillowy soft, these were doughy and firm not good at all. The sauce was tasty. - Cannoli for dessert, the cream was firm and grainy, and the pastry was too hard. Don't recommend - Pistachio tiramisu, beautifully presented - a must order dish. It is well balanced and not too sweet. It's a legitimate Italian style tiramisu in that the base is not soggy. Served with a custard and mascarpone. The best Italian tiramisu I've had in Sydney is from La Bufala. Their mascarpone is whipped and every so light. All in all, an alright dinner but I wouldn't be rushing back. The venue is beautiful, service is good, but the dishes we ordered is just average. There is much better Italian food found at Grappa, Oliveto, La Bufalo. These places have a legitimate Italian taste.

Came here to try out the new restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Service was accomodating and food was great. Had the wood-fired bread, burrata, cappriciosa pizza and cassarecce pasta. The bread and burrata were very well seasoned and filling. Pizza was nice but they use a gas rather than true wood-fired oven - worth a try but wouldnt personally get it again. The pasta was definitely my favourite dish of the night! Great portion size relative to other italian restaurants and not stingy at all with the toppings. However, it did take 50 minutes for our mains to arrive after ordering. Had a lovely dinner and will definitely come back to try more pastas! Some feedback - felt that the table stands for some of the dishes are not very practical. I opted to move the woodfire bread onto the table to cut it more easily. Could use a smaller, rectangular plate that would take up less space. Also watched a table struggle to cut their spatcock on the elevated plate as well.

Ordered the Gamberi pizza and the Porchetta, and we were so disappointed. The pizza was bland, with sparse toppings that tasted like just sauce on wood-fired bread. Then the porchetta arrived, and it was ice-cold in the center. After notifying the server, he took it away and later returned with a replacement. While the porchetta was cooked properly this time, it was obvious the potato wedges were reused and reheated from the first dish—burnt to a crisp! The service was subpar, with no apology for the cold dish or the wait. To top it off, they even asked for a tip when paying the bill. This place needs serious improvement in customer service, and the kitchen staff should develop better self-awareness. It’s clear we can see how you operate in the open kitchen, and it reflects a lack of care in preparing the dishes.

Loved my meal here, it's a new restaurant so thought I'll check it out for lunch they were kind enough to move a table for our big pram. Parking is a little difficult in Meadowbank but it's a fairly high density area. Service was impeccable. We had the burrata which was delicious and the steak tartare which my husband said was better than Restaurant Hubert's. We also splurged and bought the $139 1kg bistecca steak and oh Boy were we glad we did that, it was the juiciest and most succulent piece of meat I've tasted in a loooong time. Cooked to perfection and it even came with salad! We also got the hand made gnocchi which was flavourful and melt in mouth. I highly recommend checking it out for a local eat!
