I have been going to Jade Delight for over 10 years. Normally everything is pretty good. I ordered the meal and asked for 2 wine glasses and 2 glasses of water. The waitress even asked me if we wanted tap water or bottled water. Last night was not too busy and we were made to wait for our wine glasses. We had to ask again for the wine glasses. And when she did bring the glasses asked if we wanted water? I couldn't hear or understand her accent. I thought she said last order. Anyway, she said water. We don't ask you if you want water. You have to ask for water. Wow... I had a conversation with this waitress about bottled water or a glass of water. And she couldn't remember. Also, I didn't like having to ask for sweet and sour sauce for our prawn cutlets. Every other Chinese restaurant includes some kind of dipping sauce. Sweet and sour or plum sauce. We were charged $1 extra for the sauce. And when we asked for the sauce the waitress seemed dumbfounded. "What kind of sauce?" Are you kidding me? We were charged $4 corkage for 2 people. I don't remember having to pay for corkage previously. Not impressed Lilly. Bad service. Waitress forgot about our wine glasses. Waitress forgot we ordered water. Waitress doesn't understand which a basic dipping sauce then charges us extra for sauce that should be included with the dish. Lilly is the owner and I have been coming here for a long...

The Fried rice was fine, as was the Fried Beancurd with Vegetables but the Spring Rolls, and Chinese style Beef Fillet was a shocker, in my opinion. The mushy filling and over-fried Spring rolls made me question the quality of ingredients and whilst there was beef in the beef dish, the sauce was terrible and the cuts were thick. Quick service - maybe you just gotta know...
Read moreAs someone with a Chinese background, I found the food here to be very poor. The salt and pepper pork was awful – the coating was thick, clearly pre-made, and easily the worst I’ve had. Other dishes like the beef fillet and seafood were also substandard. The sauces (勾芡) were far too heavy and showed a lack of professional skill. The menu is outdated, stuck in the 80s–90s Cantonese takeaway style, which might work in a regional area, but not in Meadowbank where diners expect authentic, high-quality Chinese food. I...
