Found this new restaurant through searching on the internet for somewhere easy to get to on a Friday night for dinner.

Kind of hidden away upstairs of a hotel, which wasn’t too hard to find once you see the signage at the front. Take the lift up and you’ll be greeted by hotel staff and/or restaurant staff. The decor is amazing in their restaurant and service was great and friendly.

Provided complimentary olives to start, which was a nice touch.

Menu isn’t overly big, so relatively easy to choose your dishes from it. To start we ordered the prosciutto, which was very tasty and the chilli had a nice hit to it without being too spicy, went very well with the prosciutto. The other dish we had the Bay Bug Frito Misto, very tasty bug and the seasoning complimented the bug very well.

Mains we had the duck ragu, one of the better duck ragu i have had in Sydney and the other dish we had the riverine Angus rump, which was cooked to a proper medium rare. Went very well with the red wine jus and not too bad with the mushroom sauce too.

The most interesting and unique dish was for dessert, the Milo tiramisu, I am biased because I am a big fan of tiramisu and this one didn’t disappoint. I could eat a whole one for myself as it was so tasty and each layer combined for a perfectly...

If you are ever in the somewhat sterile surrounds of North Sydney and craving proper pasta, check out Bar Lettera, a groovy new modern Italian/Oz restaurant, tucked away on Level 5 of Citadines. It’s a little tricky to find (you catch the lifts to level 5 and walk past reception on the right), into a really groovy hip fitout. There are cosy corners for solo diners like me, or space enough for a family or office get together. The vibe sits perfectly between swish and comfy. Which is perfect for their food. I rate their duck ragout pasta, and the tiramisu is the best I have had in recent living memory. Andre and his professional waitstaff team will look after you. I don’t know the name of the Chef, but he bakes his own bread which is amazing! I really rate this new restaurant for North Sydney - which feeds me on a Sunday, when no other quality place seems open in the...

Just walked out in disgust!

I ordered eggs Benedict with salmon and it came out with bacon. Mistakes happen, but I don't eat bacon (which I informed the staff). So I returned it.

The plate came back immediately with salmon. Suspicious, I turned over the egg to find bacon grease under it. Had I lifted the salmon, I have zero doubt the bread would have bacon grease too.

I informed the manager of the situation and that I would not be eating the meal, nor did I have any intention of paying. He then proceeded to argue with me, aiming it would not happen!

Let's be clear: I tasted the bottom of the egg and tasted bacon grease. Further, there is no way the dish could have been turned around so quickly - I watched it go in and out of the pass.

To make a mistake is understandable: to argue with a customer after the mistake is not!

The coffee, what little I had of it, seems...

4.5 This was a surprising impromptu find in North Sydney. We had the “prawn toast” cannoli and signature bread for entrees. Both were excellent, different from what we would expect. I would recommend getting both (even though one is just bread - it was delicious!). For mains we actually just got 2 pastas as this was an early meal. So I’m sorry if you’re reading this for the other mains. They were both great, but the risotto was outstanding. We would be back to get it again. The bug was cooked perfectly, and the risotto and stracciatella was a great combo. They accommodated our dietary requirements well also, and were friendly. The .5 off is really due to the prices. The prices are fairly high, but it’s quite a nice restaurant so it’s a bit of you pay for what you get. But I can’t give it a 5 because of that still 🤷🏻‍♂️
