Oeuf, what can I say. I had beefys on my list of places to go for a while now and decided to stop in.....
I ordered the onion rings(5.50), beefy boom boom(14), sweet potato chips(6), and the limited edition milk shake (peanut butter and jelly)(7) take away.
Prices were decent, the costs add up when you add the sides so if you can keep those in check it's decent for a meal.
I had a 20 minute drive home, and let's just say the onion rings didn't make it home. Beautifully crisp, yet soft. Would definitely pay the money for those. And there was plenty for 2 people.
The boom boom, it really packs a boom, perfectly cooked meat, slightly pink, not over, not under done. The hot sauce? Boy, is it spicy, yet so devourable. Great burger.
The let down though was probably the milk shake straw. Cardboard is a horrible medium for liquids. The straw collapsed after about 3 minutes of drinking it, and the peanuts got stuck in the opening making it collapse even more. The straw / milkshake is the reason for a 4 instead of 5 stars. Flavour was good, but for the price, it's not something I'd buy a second time around.
The sweet-potato chips, they're ok, more like wedges than chips, flavour is good, serving size is meh, would recommend just standard chips purely for price to value.
Customer sevice was great, top notch. Would definitely be going back when ever I can.
Highly recommend you give this place a shot if it's...
Read moreHad a chat with the owner and bought myself an "advance screening" burger whilst they trained their cooks. It was just the base model plain burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and the obligatory special sauce. I can tell you that this will either be the latest talk of the town or the best little secret on High St. Bun is soft without falling apart. Patty is delicious, tender and moist but not greasy, and hot! Salad is fresh and is a generous helping not overwhelmed by too many pickles. This is all a preamble, though, because the sauce. Sweet lord the sauce! If a burger joint is made by their secret sauce, consider Beefy's the new king! The entire burger was smothered but it managed to mostly stay on there where it set the whole thing alight. Seriously, if you like burgers you're going to love Beefy's.
I consider myself lucky that it's just a short stroll away any time I get the urge for a fix - which will probably be far too often.
Well done Beefy's and good luck with...
Read moreThis burger joint is really unique. The burgers themselves are without exception stunning. The music is loud and heavy. I quite liked it but if you are more comfortable with elevator musak stylings then you might find it a little confronting. Then while you wait you start looking around at what you might assume to be typical kitch posters on the wall, but no. There's posters for events coming up that you are glad you have found out about, things that you wish you hadn't missed, and the occasional kitch one as well. Everything has a place and a purpose. My son and his fiance first introduced me to this place and I am glad that Beefies survived the COVID blitz. I highly recommend them if a quintessential old school Aussie burger is...
