The atmosphere and service were great but the food was quite terrible. We hard blue swimmer crab and duck three ways for entree. The crab dish is probably the best dish in this meal. Then we had roasted john dory and beef eye fillet. The texture of the john dory was a bit mushy, it would be great if there is a crunchy element on the dish. For the beef eye fillet, I guess because the fillet is very thick, it was undercooked, the steak was also under seasoned and the knife that was given was not sharp to cut the meat especially when it was mostly raw. The mushroom polenta that came with the steak was tasty but the parmesan crisp was so bitter that it completely threw the dish out of balance. For the desserts, we chose peanut butter parfait and ile flottante (floating island with praline biscuit). The peanut butter parfait was supposed to come with brownie and salted caramel icecream, but there was no brownie nor ice cream on the dish. Instead, it came with a sauce on the dish which I guess it should be a salted caramel sauce, but it was ridiculously bitter that I can't really work out what the flavour is. The ile flottante was very airy and sweet, I have never had any like this so it was interesting but I wouldn't order it again because it is just too sweet with no flavour other than vanilla. Overall the meal was quite unpleasant. We left feeling sick with bitter flavours in our mouths.

I have been coming here about once a year for many years as a celebration meal. However the quality on my last visit on Saturday was a severe decline to what we had come to expect. We were so disappointed. We passed a cafe that was completely packed and when we walked up to Bitton there were plenty of tables. We should've taken that as a sign. I ordered the Omelette A'la Paysanne and it was incredibly dry, I felt the eggs were overcooked, and the salad looked like a sad supermarket salad (I didn't eat it). The Pan Fried Wild Caught Snapper dish was overall too oily and the Grenobloise sauce was lacking (a few token capers, couldn't taste the lemon but there was a fresh one on the side and the croutons made no sense). The acidity should balance out the butter nature of the sauce. The Chicken Liver Parfait tasted very bizarre (bitter maybe?) and not at all like anything I have tried before, I personally couldn't eat any more of it after the one taste. I'm usually a huge fan of liver pates and the likes. The Crepes Suzette was nice enough and I enjoyed the bitter orange style. Coffee was ok! I'm not sure we'll be back for that price point when there's so much on offer in the Inner West to explore.

Located at 36/37A Copeland Street, Alexandria, New South Wales, Australia šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ We had a wonderful experience at this great restaurant. The staff were so accommodating. We were a large group (18 people) and they fitted us in without any hesitation. We basically had the room to ourselves. The service was fast and efficient and so friendly. It’s a beautifully decorated restaurant, creating a welcoming environment. The menu offers a wide range of dishes and our food was delicious šŸ˜‹. This is a perfect little gem and I would not hesitate to recommend. There’s a wonderful range of Bitton brand paste’s and sauces that are available to buy also. There’s seating out the front of the cafe as well as a gorgeous courtyard out the back. Plenty of seating as well. Well worth a look. The cakes are delicious also. It’s street parking šŸ…æļø which would probably be difficult if busy. I can’t wait to return. A BIG Thumbs up!! šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

This was my first dining experience with Bitton as part of the Valentines Day package.

Pros: The bookings team were prompt in following up on table availability. I'm really appreciative that you were able to fit me into an 8pm slot. Kudos to Bernardo?? (not sure of his name) Food was fresh Menu articulated exactly what I was getting for the evening

Cons: We were ushered to our seats and we ordered some cocktails to start the proceedings. We also decided on a bottle of wine. We got the wine first and by the time the entree arrived, we received the cocktails much later. it's customary to receive cocktails first.

A side serving of warm bread that you bake in house with a serving of butter would have been appreciated to go along side your various courses. Would have been happy to pay extra if the waiting staff offered or had asked.

The waiting staff towards the end of the evening had forgotten about us. They had placed the dessert spoons on the table and we had to waive down the wait staff to remind them we had not received our dessert. When we asked, the wait staff asked "Did you not get your dessert"?

The Opera singer was wonderful, however, it was comical how she was moving from various parts of the premises and had to stop and allow diners to come in and out of the premises. Perhaps in future, have the guest stay in a part of the restaurant and open up the windows. Whilst I appreciate that some diners may want to see the singer, hearing the guest live would suffice.

Overall, the quality of the food was great. It's just a shame that there were some elements that could have been better, such as cocktails being served first before opening a bottle of wine before the arrival of the entree and courses. We had to also remind the wait staff about our dessert as most of the patrons were on the way out and we were one of the last patrons to receive dessert because we had to remind the staff. In any case, I'll be back to savour your normal dinner or...

Had driven past quite a few times and finally decided to stop in for lunch with my partner. Up front, the staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming, so no issues there. I had a grain fed beef burger, which comes with chips and my partner had the cheese tart. The latter, whilst flavoursome, was lukewarm and unfortunately soggy due to the tomato salad over the top. Sadly, the beef burger, whilst looking appetising was quite average, for the $26 price tag. Admittedly, it was well presented and the beef patty very generously portioned. Upon eating, the beef patty oozed a lot of juice/liquid and was a tad undercooked and didn't appear to have spiced at all. The chips were not even lukewarm, but already cold when the plate arrived. I'm not one to generally complain, and unless the food is absolutely inedible will always finish my plate, which I did. The waitress, again, very polite and I have no concerns here, asked how our meals were. We expressed our overall dissatisfaction and were politely asked why we didn't mention this at the time, so it could have been addressed then - see my earlier comment as to why. She did apologise and indicated that this would be taken up with the chefs. We were offered two complimentary crƩme brulƩe, which I thanked her for but also...
