Two of us went for breakfast at what would be better described as late brunch. Ok it was almost lunchtime. But we had breakfast. We had the truffled scrambled eggs and the smoked salmon, poached egg combo. Both came with sourdough. Maybe BM's had taken the other review to heart, because the poached eggs were perfect. By perfect, I mean, for us. We both like the yoke to be slightly runny, but going firm as it heads into the white. This might seem exact, but BM's get it. The truffled scrambled egg sounds simple, but there's a few things that have to come together. The eggs were scrambled to perfection - cooked all the way through but still not firm or clumped. And just the correct amount of truffle oil - not overpowering and still allowing the egg to have its own flavour. Like I say, perfection. All the sides, be it avocado, tomato, bread, were excellent, fresh and in good proportion. A special mention for the smoked salmon - great quality and flavour, as well as quantity. Coffee was also solid. I tried a long black to get the flavour - not the fullest roast out there, but still well made and not burnt. I finished off with a soy flat white. Again, no complaints. I snuck in a BM oyster shot at the beginning. Lucky I'm not a drinker or that might have ended up becoming a lot more. Service was efficient and friendly. We actually ended up going here by chance only because the traffic was so terrible that we got out of our taxi right in front of it. I'd go back in a...
Read moreI’ve been hesitant to post this review because I thought maybe it was a one off. But after talking to some other locals (us having just moved into the area we hear it is a common theme.
I’ll start with the positives the food was actually really good although we didn’t try that much and the reason for that will follow.
The drinks were not bad but the cocktail menu and wine list need a serious update. DO NOT ORDER THE HOUSE WINE!!!
Unfortunately this is where the positives end. The clearly intoxicated, slurring his words “restaurant manager” was so pushy and wanting us to order as soon as we sat down.
We felt constantly pushed to have more food and more drinks, as this beyond creepy intoxicated man hovered over our table far to many times.
The rest of the staff seemed lovely especially the young waiter who was spoken to terribly albeit drunkenly by the “manager” who at this stage had found a table to sit with and continue to drink.
This place has such cute decore although it does need a slight update and a really good clean.
Such a shame that our experience was so negative as we definitely won’t be back.
I hope the owner knows what is happening there and hires a new manager ASAP this place should be packed but I figure this is the reason it was near empty at 7pm on a...
Read moreI had my hens party at Bloody Mary's Gazebo and it was absolutely unforgettable! The venue itself is stunning, with photo opportunities at every turn - the amount of photos on my phone can vouch for that 😅 Plus, the pastel colour palette complements a variety of event themes, and it matched perfectly with my hens theme 'last swing before the ring'.
Jeremy, the manager, went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. We were lucky enough to have the entire indoor area to ourselves, which made the day even more special. We kicked things off with a cocktail-making class 🍹🍸 The cocktails were delicious, and our instructor made sure we all felt like experts behind the bar. Next, we enjoyed the set menu and bottomless drinks. With a group of 28, it's no easy task to keep the drinks flowing, but the staff were on point-our glasses were never empty. The food was outstanding-many of our guests were raving about the perfectly cooked salmon and the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu rump 😍 The team was also great at accommodating dietary requirements, and the bridesmaids were able to host games in the venue too.
Additionally, we had the freedom to decorate the space, and the staff even captured photos and videos for us, which was so kind. I can't recommend this venue enough! Thank...
