There are vegan and gluten free options but unfortunately their gluten free pizza was definitely a missed. It is more like a harden flatbread. You can hardly say it is a pizza base. It was so hard that we left the pizza rim on the plate. Didn't see any vegan cheese either. Rocket & pear salad was ok nothing amazing but also can't go wrong. Service was great, although seems to be short on wait staff. The poor waiter seems ridiculously busy. So although they were nice, it can't be easy to have good experience if there is only 2 waiter for the whole place. There are indoor and outdoor sitting, and there are also other Italian around but without much vegan options so this is last resort I guess. If I have to come to this area to eat. I'm more reluctant to eat pizza here again. It isn't easy and it is good effort but ultimately taste matters....

Our party of 9 came tonight to celebrate an important milestone. Customer service was friendly, attentive and started off really well. Food and drinks ordered and as we were eating, we had a shock that a cockroach joined us and crawled over my daughter and her plate of food. We killed it and Nick cleared it but it really shocked me. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant next to the kitchen and bar (not outside on the sidewalk). Nick was apologetic but from a food, work and health safety standards, this is completely unacceptable and that pest control need to be called in asap! We were offered a free pizza and pasta but paid for the $264 bill so this is a legitimate diner experience! We hope this review will serve as an alert to management to immediately act on this and for future customers to be aware!

Very disappointed in my experience. The staff was amazing however the food was not. The (Peri Peri) prawns that I got for the entree were over cooked, still shelled and small (at least get king prawns). The meat we got from them was insignificant…way too hard too peel and not satisfying. Also I would not recommend them as they aren’t even Italian. The potato pizza had no flavour and the pasta looked store bought. The sauce way too watery and once again, had no flavour. I had to ask for extra Parmesan, salt and pepper so it at least tasted decant. I would recommend a smaller dessert menu and trying to make dessert in house so it Atleast doesn’t taste like it was bought from a super market.

Took my parents and in laws there tonight and I was so embarrassed that I took them there. I booked for a group of 9 and placed the order for everyone. They placed us in the back of the restaurant in a glassed room right next to the kitchen which is fine but no one actually came and attended to us and I had to keep waving at the staff that were walking in and out of the kitchen. Even if you get someone’s attention, they said they will get someone else, and they don’t come back. To place the order, I actually had to walk to the front of the restaurant to get someone. The waiter came and took the order. I asked him if he wants to write down the order on a piece of paper, he said it should be okay. Well he forgot two of our salads and a pizza. Mind you, the restaurant only has bread, salad, pizza and pasta. So we got served bread, pizza and pasta and we didn’t get the salads and one of the pizzas for 50 mins, I knew something was wrong so I asked wait staff no 2 to check my order. She never came back to update us. Then I had to ask wait staff no 3 to check on the salads and the pizza and she came back and said they are cooking it and it should be on the way. 10 mins later, still no food. I asked wait no 4 to check where our food is, he came back and said there is no salads and pizza on their system. At this point, I was so frustrated and he asked me if I still want the salads and the pizza to which I said yes. A few mins later, just the pizza magically appears and i was told the pizza was in the system. Wow.. by the time the salads came out, we were already done eating our mains. No one came and apologised for the mistake. I will not be coming back - what a...

To;dr excellent plant based menu with delicious dishes, staff were friendly, helpful and funny, atmosphere was cosy and relaxing, my number one favourite restaurant. Borruso's in Northbridge was my best kept secret when I lived in Sydney. The napolitano sauce was the best I've ever had by far. I don't go to other Italian places anymore because Borruso's ruined me. Since I moved interstate I went vegan and it has limited where I can eat. I came home for a holiday and decided to check out the Crows Nest restaurant. To my absolute glee, THEY HAVE A WHOLE PLANT BASED MENU!!! And not just a garden salad or simple vegetarian options, but legit pastas and pizzas exclusive to the plant based menu! I had the spaghetti pesto and it was incredible. I also had some of the vegan gnocchi and it was excellent. My darling napolitano wasn't on the plant based menu but I hope it will make an appearance soon because I will be coming back every time I visit Sydney. The staff were great and seated us straight away. We were waiting on some people who had accidentally gone to the Northbridge location, so we put off ordering until they finally arrived. The server who looked after us wasn't intrusive but checked in on us to see if we wanted drinks or anything while we waited, and playfully berated our late friends when they arrived. Honestly, I felt like we were being hosted by a good friend despite never having met her before. The atmosphere was the same I had known in Northbridge. It was dim lighting with a rustic feel, music my dad grew up with, and a vibe that allowed us all to relax and made our time fly by....

We have dined here several times before, Saturday was a birthday occasion and we chose Borruso's again. The food was lovely and enjoyed by all. Six of us were seated in a perfect area towards the rear of the restaurant. We enjoyed a variety of starters and pizza, mains and desserts, the food was lovely. However, a few minor mishaps could have been handled better. First was a wine chiller placed on the table, when we placed the bottle of wine inside, it was over filled with ice and water and spilt all over the table, a staff member who was busy came back and changed the cooler but had to be asked to clean the mess up, he came back with a pile of napkins for us to clean ourselves. Desert was served extremely hot with no warning the dish was hot, luckily, no fingers were burnt. To finish off we asked for coffee, only to be told it wasn't available for whatever reason. That was disappointing after a lovely meal and drinks. I asked for the bill and it was bought back and placed next to my guest at the opposite end of the table, not bought to me. A five star rating is deserving of Borruso's if they can be more attentive to there diners. In saying that, we will...
