C9 Chocolate & Gelato Burwood — Restaurant in Sydney

Thrilled to see that this place opened up so close to home and in such a busy area too. I’ve been once before to the Newtown shop but just to pick up a coffee so this time, I was able to indulge in some of the items on their food menu.

The shop front window is filled with pastries such as brownies, donuts, cronuts and croffles. Keep on walking in to find a range of rich & creamy to light & fruity gelato flavours.

We ordered the Brownie Smackdown. A warm brownie topped with our choice of gelato (pistachio), waffle cone, side of melted milk/dark Belgian chocolate and brownie cubes. Sounds like a lot of chocolate but it went really well with the gelato we selected!

Never have I had a ‘croffle’ until I came to this place. It’s a mix between a croissant and a waffle which is genius. Buttery, flakey goodness. We ordered a ’Single Fortune’ which comes with one fresh croffle, a choice of gelato (mango), strawberries, bananas and drizzled with milk chocolate. This was my favourite dish, simply because the croffle was such a nice change from the standard waffle that I am used to. Be sure to order this one when you come to visit!

CHOCOLATE OVERLOAD! This Molten Lava Cake was the most decadent of them all. Rich, moist and full of chocolate. Now, I do love my chocolate but this was just too much for me. I would have eaten it all if I had a big serving of fresh berries, as the two strawberries and raspberry gelato...

We went there tonight at around 8:40pm getting dessert. There was 3 thai ladies working on floor and i over heard them talking about my friends lashes they said it in THAI aswell and i didnt want to cause any drama there but we are paying customers and we dont deserve to here that like whats wrong with having lashes?? They were saying “ look at her lashes when it rains it will cover her eyes” like why being so childish and rude about customers like be professional on work floor its a multicultural country some people can understand you aswell you know so unprofessional next time if you want to say that say it TO OUR FACE. You guys should do something about it. Say whatever when theres no customers around you like common thats actually really rude and disrespectful. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! We’re paying customers and dont deserve...
