Wed 03/07/2024 We got there at 11:08, the door is opened and the sign displayed: Open from 11:00AM to Late. There was a Burwood Council Officer was talking with a young lady inside about the restriction or anything else related to their restaurant. We asked her: can we come in? she said : No. We point to the display sign about their business time, she rudely replied: No, we open at 11:30, We waited outside and sitting at the yellow table with number 32+33 till 11:30 and asked again, same reply as previously:we do not open yet. Thru the glass windows: It seems to me they were having fun and good time inside with their foods and drinks on the table, staffs walked around talking.... They didn't care about their customer Well, we have been in number of Thai restaurants around same as travelling many times to Thailand recently(Bangkok, Huahin, Ayuthaya, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai etc...)Thai people always care and respect customers with smiles on their faces, but not at the new Doodee branch Burwood. Pls remember we come to have lunch and we will pay for our part. We are not beggars nor expect anything free.
20/07/2025, Firstly, I'd like to apologise to Khun Fong and staffs at Doodee King Burwood with my previously post. I revisited to day for lunch, asked for Khun Fong but he's not available. The atmosphere and staffs attitudes are so difference with last time I visited, very good vibe and restaurant was packed up by 11:30. I (we) had a bowl of tom yum with three giant prawns + a dish of Pad sewn and larb with beef + khao niew, generous size. Although the restaurant was too busy but foods served to table was quick, authentic Thai flavour. Bravo to the chefs behind the scene. Staffs: mostly "Trainee" they are young and energetic with smiles on their faces, taking order in very professional way with their tablets. Many thanks to a young lady named Naisha (Sorry if my writing is wrong), her customer service is first grade. Keep up your works guys. Definitely I(we) will return in the near future with group of people as with my staffs and...
Read moreBeen to Doodee King in CBD and was excited to hear it open in the suburbs where parking is a bit easier.
This branch is a bit smaller but offers a nice vibe with indoor and outdoor dining. During cooler months they have heaters to keep diners outside warm. It's a nice street food experience sitting outside albeit there can be smells from car exhausts going by but this is out of control of the business. Indoor dining has a very electric and exciting atmosphere with signs, lights and some mirrors to create a larger and open space.
The food was excellent, with a very large range of options including entrees, mains, desserts, mocktails and speciality drinks. Enjoyed the entree of soft shell crab and will be keen to come back to try the rest of the entrees. Mains we had curry and pad see ew both which were done excellently. They have a range of desserts too and would be keen to come back and try a few others.
Service was amazing, service was decent speed given how busy they are at opening time and actually a little suprised how quick they can service the meals out. They all arrived piping hot which is fantastic given how busy they were, seems it's all made to order and served immediately to be able to deliver this kind of quality, espeically given how cold outdoor dining was. Staff were all A+ service and very attentive to make sure everything was good whilst being in high demand from diners, the kitchen and customers queuing for a table.
High recommend but do allow some time as they're very popular at launch time which...

Doodee King in Burwood offers a vibrant and authentic Thai dining experience that’s worth a visit if you’re in the area. Despite the minor inconvenience of having to stand outside and wait for a seat, the restaurant’s overall vibe and food make up for it.
I ordered the soy flat rice noodles, which were cooked to perfection. The dish had a balanced flavour profile with just the right amount of soy sauce, fresh ingredients, and a smoky wok-tossed essence that’s characteristic of authentic Thai street food. While the noodles were satisfying, they didn’t particularly stand out, leaving room for improvement in terms of seasoning depth or spice levels.
The restaurant itself has a lively atmosphere, with quick and friendly service once seated. However, it’s worth noting that the seating space is limited, so arriving early or during off-peak hours might be a better choice.
Doodee King shines for its authenticity and affordability, but the experience could be elevated with a bit more attention to the overall flow of service and perhaps a few creative twists to classic dishes like the soy flat rice noodles. That said, the consistent quality and reasonable pricing make it a great spot for casual dining or a quick meal with friends.
If you enjoy Thai cuisine and don’t mind a short wait, Doodee King is definitely worth checking out. It’s not perfect, but it’s a solid 4 out of 5 for its flavourful dishes and...
