Casa Del Vino - is a hidden gem of Sydney.
As a big fan of European cuisines, I am always looking for places that keep it authentic. And this cafe happens to be an absolute win.
If you have even been to Italy, you know how proud they are about their food. And there’s a good reason for it - it is absolutely delicious! Ask any Italian how pasta should be made - and they will tell you without the slightest hesitation “Al-Dente”! If it is not “Al-dente” - it is either undercooked or overcooked, they say. And who are we to argue with those who invented pasta in the first place? Personally, I absolutely agree that Al-Dente is just perfect! And unfortunately, I find that a lot of Sydney Italian restaurants/cafes tend to overlook their pasta. So if you are like me, have been looking for a cozy place that serves perfectly made pasta - I would strongly recommend Casa del vino, they got it just perfectly right!
A waiter also recommended I try their Tiramisu. Apparently they make it from scratch and it is quite popular he advised . I decided to give it a go having no intentions to finish it all as I was pretty full. Tiramisu was so perfectly balanced (not too coffee sour like and not sickly sweet) that I didn’t stop until I scraped the last bits of it.
It was my very first visit, unfortunately I did not get to try other things on their menu, but I will definitely be back! Great service, amazing food....
Read moreMy husband and I came here for dinner based on Google reviews and had high expectations based on the multitude of 5 and 4 star reviews. We had a very underwhelming experience.unfortunately. We ordered 2 appetizers, arrancini and garlic bread. When the host/ waitress took our order, she seemed to be very confused by what we selected (both were on the menu) and we had to point to the items on the menu. When we received our arrancini and took a first bite it tasted like it had been fried with seafood items because that’s all we could taste. It’s fine if you like that taste, but that’s not how arrancini should be. We never send things back, but we did in this case. We tried explaining to the waitress that it tasted like fish, but she didn’t understand, then I used the word seafood and I think I confused her more. Fortunately the manager/owner (not sure) stopped by our table to see what was going on, which was really nice. He mentioned that they use truffle oil in the frying methods, but I love truffle and there was no taste of truffle oil. He kindly took it off the bill. My husband did enjoy the Diavolo pizza. We sat outside along the sidewalk but the indoor portion of restaurant looked warm and comfortable. I guess my recommendation is if you come for pizza, you...
Read moreI can only hope this review does justice to how absolutely delighted I was with my dining experience at Casa del Vino! From start to finish, everything was simply perfect. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and the attentiveness of the staff made the evening truly unforgettable.
The recommendations were flawless, elevating our meal to another level. The pasta scoglio was nothing short of divine, every bite melted in my mouth. And the lamb chops? Cooked to absolute perfection. Every detail was thoughtfully executed, making for an extraordinary experience.
The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. Bina, the chef, is a true artist in the kitchen and you’ll fall in love with anything she prepares. And Sargon, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure our evening was nothing short of magical. Their passion for hospitality is evident in every detail.
Casa del Vino is a true gem, delivering an authentic Italian dining experience that lingers in your memory long after the last bite. I can’t...
