I was a regular customer of Cava coffee shop since we live close by and we love coffee. The food and coffee has always been quite decent, but the service is quite bad. When we walk in, we hardly get much acknowledgement from staff members. It would be nice to be greeted with a smile, or at least a head nod. The staff members are usually trying to avoid eye contact, as if they don't want to work there.
The final straw of making a decision to not come back again, was today. When I tried to order something from the table, but was rudely told to go to the counter to order, by the Asian girl with big glasses (probably should've gotten her name). She looked super angry, by just even me asking if I can make an order from the table. One could just say something like "Sorry, do you mind going to the front to make an order". Which would be totally appropriate, and I'd have no issues with. But if you look visibly angry at the customer for simply asking if they can make an order from the table and tell them to go to the front to order, that sort of attitude is unacceptable and quite rude.
Being a business owner myself, I understand the value of having great customer service. Especially being in hospitality, this is a must, if you want to retain long-term customers and grow your business. Your business thrives off having repeat customers. If you have a bad customer service experience, many people like myself will choose not to come back, even after just one bad interaction. This is one reason (other than cost of living of course) why many coffee shops are going out of business so fast.
Anyway, if you don't mind average to bad customer service, then this place might still be ok. But I'd definitely not want to come back. And I'm purely basing my review on their customer service. Which I think if they address, can probably make the place quite a solid choice as the food is...
Read moreI’m a resident of the Observatory tower building and stopped going to this cafe as the service and coffee has gotten really bad which is kind of frustrating as it was really convenient for my partner and I to get coffee and lunches from there. Staff doesn’t provide a minimal customer service - you’re simply ignored when you stand at the counter to order. The staff is really really slow even outside peak hours, keep getting an order wrong, forgetting things etc which makes the whole experience bad. Also, the owner might need to pay attention to upskilling baristas - they kept making my coffee wrong although I used to come every morning for a year and ask for the same type of coffee, so ended up having to ask to redo it quite a few times until I gave up and now go to a different coffee shop nearby. I just wanted to leave a review in attempt to make things better as this cafe is considered the observatory tower “community” spot which...
