Passed by this shop million times, but never thought of going in because it looks a dessert shop. And today my friends mentioned they have very rice steamed noodle roll. I’m surprised!
Environment 4/5 About 7/8 tables inside, I thjnk there’s upstairs also but looks dark at the staircase. Very spacious but lots of small bugs on the wall and some flying.
Curry fish ball 4/5 If they use the bouncy fish ball will be better, or maybe I’m used to that. They used the fish ball that has a softer texture, maybe is how hongkong made it. Curry is quite nicely done.
Crispy butter pineapple bread 5/5 My first choice when I saw the menu, and it never disappoint me! Crispy outside soft inside with the salty butter in it. Yum!!
Thai style sour and spicy chicken feet 5/5 I’m surprised with how good it is! Well marinated chicken feet without bone and the Chili is sour and spicy enough. Eat at your own risk!
Minced pork and prawn steamed noodle roll 5/5 Now I know why my friend said they have very good steamed noodle roll. Indeed it is one of the best I ever had! Thin roll generous filling and just right with the gravy.
BBQ pork steamed noodle roll 4.5/5 Comparing to the minced pork and prawn I think the BBQ pork is not as good, but is very nice still, for those of you who like bbq pork, please go ahead to try this.
Cordiceps pork ribs noodle 3/5 Not a fan of cordiceps, just wanna try but nothing impressive.
BBQ pork rice 3/5 Quite sad to see my egg yolk is damaged. Quite generous amount of bbq pork but the rice is a bit too wet for me. Din finish the rice in the end.
Durian and purple rice in Snow White milk 4/5 Not expecting much from the durian, soso it is. Purple rice is a little bit too mushy and sticky. The snow white milk is fine, not those super fine type but still have the ice texture, which is good to go with both the durian and purple rice which are soft texture.
Will I come back again? 4/5 Quite likely since I always pass by, there’s still other stuff that I can try or even just come in for the Crispy butter pineapple bread

Read morewas there last night monday july 28th for a bite as things looked good on the menu, my partner and i dined in.
i will just stick to what i ordered and observed - ordered the bbq pork/fried egg/rice and prawn omelette with rice with 2x hk style tea (one hot and one cold). tea was ok, but the hot tea (and cold tea) came in a takeaway plastic cup, sealed cap and a straw (for dine in).... who serves scolding hot tea for dining in in a takeaway plastic cup with a seal lid specifically for a straw.....
then the bbq pork rice came and it was the most disappointing dish i had ever seen (i am from and grew up in hk so i have had my fair share of bbq meats & rice). the pork was sliced so thin (and dry) it was like tracing paper!! egg was ok, and the side veg that came with the dish was two sad soggy looking lettuce leaf the size of my middle finger! and it came in a bowl when the picture depicted it was served on a plate....
then the prawn omelette/rice took ages to arrive (there was only 3 other people in the restaurant) - i saw them confused and it seemed they had forgotten the order.... when it did arrive it looked ok.... but on closer inspection all the prawns were chopped to little pieces the size of my pinky finger (and not whole prawns as it was advertised on the menu) which amounted to around 3 to 4 whole prawns.... and there was this brown sauce all over the omelette and loads under the rice which i can only describe as that weird asian abc sweet soya sauce that is available from grocery shops.
from memory the bbq pork egg rice was approx 19$ and prawn omelette rice was approx 23$ - the price definitely did not reflect the quantity or quality.
very disappointing dining in experience for the specific items i had ordered. i was looking forward to trying the desserts but that chance will never happen as one very disappointing experience was...
Read moreI usually go to Dim Sum House in Burwood Plaza, but was on this side of Burwood today. Decided to try it out despite hearing that a friend threw up after eating here recently.
Small egg & meat rice porridge was $9.80 - standard. Shrimp dumplings were $12.80 - no quantity shown, I expected at least 5.
This order does not take 30 minutes to make, even if you boiled rice from scratch. I sat in front of the counter but had to go up to the counter for them to remember my order. There weren't many people dining in or ordering online either (you can hear notifications when they come up) so not sure what they're doing back there.
I was already annoyed by the wait time, and on my way home, realised there were only 3 dumplings??? No sauce to accompany either. On these two points alone I will never come back to this place.
See photo for reference, the shrimp dumpling also falls apart as you try to pick it up, and rather than being a silky consistency is lumpy and opaque - indicating it was frozen. Is it too much to expect that a dim sum place would make their own dumplings? In Burwood of all places??? Grocery store hargow is miles above whatever this was anyway.
Additional notes: the porridge was fine (hard to mess this one up - just store bought salted duck egg, cook the mince and rice) limited dim sum options the server though inattentive was pleasant decor was consistent with HK (though cleaning...
