When I discovered this place a few years ago the coffee was great! I remember one of the baristas took the time out to make me a nice geisha blend (filtered) coffee and it was amazing! The place had a great vibe and friendly staff. Seemed like a nice local cafe where the staff new the locals that came. It's tucked away in a quiet alley way where you are away from the hustle and bustle of people passing by.

I rarely get to Cronulla, but when I do I always make an effort to get my coffee from this place. Unfortunately my last visit was quite disappointing. I ordered a single origin long black (which was from Rwanda). I'm not sure what happened, but the coffee was unpalatable. As soon as I saw the coffee I knew something wasn't right. As you can see from the photo, what is supposed be a smooth layer of creamy crema was replaced with a layer of some kind of ghastly "froth"

I give them 3 stars because, the staff were nice, and the vibe is still nice.

Perhaps I should have taken it back and asked them to make me...

With coffee on the brain I decided to devote a day to day (yet another day to be precise...) and head south to see what was on offer. The Grind was the place that was mentioned to most and so it become my first stop.

As they had a couple of single origins on offer, I passed on their Kenyan and grabbed a Colombian long black. To be honest, it felt like it was roasted a bit dark and smokey for my liking. Similar characteristics to a well pulled long black from AllPress. It is not undrinkable, but it is certainly leaving room for improvement.

The staff here shine with an aura of passionate coffee people, but I fear I am not trying them at their best. Even though my experience was not the best this time, I have a feeling that they are a great option for this area.

Coffee: Grind Passion:...

Love this place. The way how interior is decorated is really nice. I like that style. It makes you more like relaxed with a coffee. Kindly personal as well. They are changing type of coffee beans and have nice lemonade and cakes/muffins as well. If you are long black lovers try dopio style to rise your shine if you really need a boost :) and taste is also nice. One of the best place in cronulla. As it is popular dont be disapointed if there is crowded. I recon time around 13.00(during weekends). At this time i ussually find place to seat, but this can be different for each day. Enjoy...

Jimmy is a legend! Had an amazing night, thanks to Jimmy and his crew. Service was spot on and the Whisky selection was amazing. There were also some great Gin based drinks for the ladies to indulge in on the night. For such a small space they do an amazing job. Was so good we went back for coffee the next morning which didn't disappoint, thank god as i had a severe case of whiskyitis!😜

Grind is one of many amazing coffee shops in Cronulla. To be honest I believe Grind established Cronulla as a coffee haven. There is minimal food but that's generally how you know where its focus is. If your after great tasting coffee with a funky vibe then this is your place. There are a ton more great coffee shops in Cronulla but for me the coffee bean flavour here is on point.
