I really wanted to love this place, but I just couldn’t. I came around 8:30p on a Saturday night, and they were not busy at all, while all other restaurants on the street were packed, so that should have been my first sign to steer clear, but I forged ahead, and was supremely disappointed. I ordered the mini burrito bowl, and was underwhelmed. To begin with, the woman taking my order at the counter mumbled so horribly I had to ask her to repeat herself EVERYTIME SHE SPOKE. I ordered the bowl and a beer, and the told me I couldn’t take the beer for takeout. I never said I wanted takeout??? She was rude when I told her I would be dining in, and proceeded to check my ID. Once she took too long to do that, she pulled the beer from the cooler, and began looking for a bottle opener. She looked around frantically, picking up every item within arms reach that was NOT a bottle opener, before I finally pointed to the one sitting on the register. She then proclaimed “I don’t know how to use that one” and asked another person to borrow theirs, which thank goodness she figured out how to use. And the problems didn’t stop there... my food came quickly, but I was served a scoop on the most bland plain white rice, topped with what seemed to be unseasoned black beans straight from the can, cold shredded cheese, six bite size pieces of fatty chicken, and the most bland pick de Gallo I have ever encountered. And a side of four stale corn chips were tossed on as well. Absolutely terrible. The entire thing was luke warm at best, and had nearly no flavor at all, certainly no spice. The tomato tasted like it had been sitting out all day, and the chips were so stale they were chewy. Avoid this place at all costs. You would be better off with gas station...
Read moreAnother worst Experience from this Branch!!! Such a disappointment!!! Someone should really look into it and get those RUDE and Arrogant Staff trained properly how to deal with customer and what customer service really is !!! Went to the store before midnight Asking for fries and I have Clearly indicated the staff who served at the counter that I Need Fresh fried Chips Please if that’s OK And the female staff acknowledged and Ensured that it’s Fine. So I Have made the payment. Then after sometime , the so called Shift Manager (Liam), provided me the old and pre cooked fries which is completely Soggy and not Fresh at All, Then I advised ‘Liam’ about the situation And He just completely started behave like a Completely Arrogant and Rude. He was giving his Nonsense logic and started argument with me. No Apology, Nothing!!!! I have tried to made him understand that, If they can’t provide fresh fried fries or stopped trading / closed kitchen etc , Then why the hell did they take the money from customers and ensured they can provide while the customer clearly indicated and requested for that !! Simply advise customer that Kitchen are closed and do not take the money and provide Rubbish !!!!! It’s CHEATING !! Then I wanted refund instead those Rubbish !!! Also do not show Attitude and be Arrogant and Rude with any Customer . This so Called Shift Manager ‘Liam’ was such Disrespectful and Rude towards me and Verbally threatening me that ‘Do whatever you want , go for it etc’. He is such a ……!! He doesn’t clearly deserve what he is got as position !! Either he should be removed or get him properly trained ....
Read moreLet me state something right from the start, I love Mexican Food! Having spent time in Southern California and Mexico I have a great affection for Mexican, Texmex , and Socal Mexican food.
I have tried Guzman y Gomez a couple of times an each time I have left feeling a little disappointed with my last visit vowing never to return.
We were dining at the Newtown branch on busy warm Summer evening. The vibrancy of King street had us choose a table on the road so we could continue to soak up the atmosphere of the night. We ordered at the counter, and despite not being regulars the lady with the thick South American accent who served us seemed annoyed that we did not recognise the GYG system.
Or food arrived at lightening speed, without cutlery which we had to go searching for. Our young son, always the Gentlemen, went to ask for cutlery and returned with nothing saying that the lady behind the counter shooed him away. Mr Dad jumped up to his defence and found the cutlery avoiding what now seemed to be a grumpy service person.
Once into our meal, I found the food to be extremely bland and lacking in any of the normal excitement found in good Mexican food. I had chosen a Fish Taco thanks to a couple of great examples of fish tacos I had in Orange County. This was not a good example of a Fish Taco, compounding my disappointment.
The meal cost over $50 for four us, 2 being children which was a lot of coin to part with considering the...
