Short story: Absolutely shocked at the quality of food and service the venue has multiple managers and nobody could help definitely has something to say about his position. Would NOT recommend going here for any level of food. Long story: We had to wait 1hr 15 for our first meal to arrive. Further that we had to wait another 45 minutes for the last person of 6 to be served there food. Asked a couple of staff what was going on they said they would check it out, never came back to the table. Had to go ask for the manager, told they would come to the table, Never came to the table. Asked for the venue manager and told he was out. Greedy pricing for the food (low quality, pics attached) everything is about $10 overpriced. After 20years myself in the industry would recommend a serious overhaul of there service at the venue it’s shocking and not Australian - how the owner realises his venue is being run like this and steps up, look at the other reviews they are mostly poor Response: Thankyou for replying, one of your wait staff did offer us a drink however I refused, after speaking to your downstairs bar manager who told me that Mitch was out getting bread rolls I left my number but was not contacted, she also said to leave a review here. after that I left the venue. So maybe it was another table who received these drinks. yes I understand it may have been a busy day for your venue, but after being referred here I can see it’s not the first time people have been unsatisfied with the quality and price of the food you serve

A true local gem. This venue has it all. Delectable high quality food, nice cocktails, gracious and genuine service from all the staff and multiple well-presented function spaces for hire but nothing beats a cold drink on the pretty terrace on a sun-drenched afternoon looking out to the bridge and water views. I've hosted many an event there from large corporate soirees on the Terrace to casual team drinks in the Cap Room and most recently had my very own babyshower in the Bridge Room. Each event was seamless and the service provided by the lovely Leonne and her excellent team of staff (shout out to Kevin, Levoni and the skilled bartenders) was second to none and nothing was ever too much trouble which makes booking, planning and hosting events there such a pleasure. Standout dishes are the bbq prawns, oysters, scallops, arancini and the sirloin steak is so tender. Dinner in the main restaurant is a lovely treat and we were lucky to have enjoyed a meal there with our newborn just on Sunday so this venue is also very family friendly too. Highly recommend you pop in for a visit if you are ever in The Rocks area.

The gnocchi here is to DIE for. I would come back here just to eat the gnocchi again. It's been hours since I got home and I'm still thinking about the gnocchi. If you don't know what to eat, get the gnocchi. I loved the gnocchi and I miss it already. There was a function in the bar next to the restaurant which got pretty loud, could easily hear them from the ground floor at the bottom of the stairs. It wasn't a problem for us because the restaurant was pretty quiet around this time (4pm) and we could sit at the furthest table where we barely hear them, but I imagine it would be pretty unpleasant if we had to sit closer during lunch time or something, it takes away from the atmosphere quite a bit. Otherwise though, great gnocchi.

Without Q this is among the BEST pubs anywhere near Syd CBD. It has harbour (& bridge, above) views. It has a rooftop outdoor space on which 15 (or 25, or more) can sit at once. It has bars on every level. It has a veranda for smokers on the middle level (so we don’t need to run down to the street). The food is excellent because it is NOT “pub grub chucked into an airfryer” (I’m a Bartender so I know the “vomit” which DOES happen at some venues). That filth never happens here: they have a proper Commercial Kitchen & the food is always excellent. I held my 40th birthday here 11 years ago (& have come back ever since). I had 87 people coming from everywhere Oz & worldwide. I had a budget limited to $3k. Guess what? They were the only “near CBD” place who’d take me without “plus $3k just for venue” costs. We got 4 hours & 2 bartenders on the middle floor with food during a sun filled day & it was adored by all. They still charge less than half of what other local venues do for events (& I’m talking drink & food costs - they don’t BBQ you for space costs if you have enough people to cover theirs). They operate as an incredibly, genuinely welcoming pub. If I won lotto I’d want to live here - it’s that fantastic. When you’re planning your next “big event in Sydney”, call them & do it here. It’s absolute perfection...

Wow ! Just wow!

As one of the first restaurants/pubs I have been back to since COVID I must say it was worth the wait. Very friendly staff and management that are very helpful, accommodating And happy to welcome you.

Now the location is just beautiful, we could just hang out on the balcony and check out the beautiful view or go inside and have that tradition pub feel, the restaurant looks fresh and also has a Romantic feel about it.

Bar Service was spot on with some Extremely tasty cocktails like the Martini Bikini and others on the menu, also the waiters/waitresses were always about to take more orders and drinks wouldn’t take more then 5 minutes to receive.

The food, was Simply mouth watering, I have never wanted to try so many different things on one menu.

Now if you want an amazing burger you can’t go wrong with the Fried Chicken Burger or The Harbour Burger (Wagyu beef), yes I tried both.

Then you have the seafood The fried Calamari, The rock Oysters (locally sourced) , The grilled king prawns and lobster Were so tasty and just fresh.

I really did enjoy my main which was a cut of pasture fed Beef topped with king prawns in a herb and garlic butter. It was definitely worth the hour drive to come a taste it.

Keep up the amazing work Harbour View Hotel I will...
