Maggie’s Thai – A Feast, a Frolic, a Full Belly
There are good meals, great meals, and then there’s Maggie’s Thai, where dinner turns into an edible celebration curated by none other than the dynamic duo, Kei and Maggie. Forget scanning menus with furrowed brows – here, you simply sit back, sip your drink, and let the maestros handle the rest. And thank goodness, because they know what they’re doing.
We rolled in as a group of ten and rolled out several hours later, full of food, laughter, and possibly a few tears (from spice or joy, still unclear). The food? A symphony of textures, flavours, and “Wait, what is that? I need three more.”
Let’s talk showstoppers: • The Tiger King Prawn stuffed with eggplant had us audibly gasping. Salivating? Oh yes. Dignity? Gone. • Oysters so fresh, we half expected them to say hello. • Tempura prawns with papaya salad – a match made in crispy, tangy heaven. • Crispy pork with long beans – sweet, salty, crunchy perfection. • And a rotating parade of “and etc.” dishes that kept the surprises coming and the chopsticks flying.
Kei and Maggie’s approach is like being fed by the most stylish Thai aunties you never had – warm, confident, and with an eye for detail that borders on psychic. They know what you want before you do. It’s hospitality with soul, spice, and just the right hint of sass.
Whether you’re here for the food, the vibe, or just hoping to unlock a new level of flavour nirvana – Maggie’s delivers. In short: 10/10 would eat again (and...

No rice and they charged me $38. Absolutely the most disgusting food and disgusting eating experience of my life. I’ve eaten Thai food in Thailand and they should be ashamed of themselves. Disgusting food i wouldn’t even give it a 1. BTW they said people love their fish cakes. I can only say they’ve never been to Thailand or...
Read moreAuthentic Thai food - hidden gem I’m giving this 5 stars as compared to other Thai restaurants around inner west. It is an easy walk from Newtown station. This is a family run restaurant and it is serving up generous portions of excellent Thai food . The fish cakes are a must order. We had chicken dish and excellent the rice is excellent not the plain white being served up in other places. It’s BYO. Good place to catch up with friends and a choice of inside or outside tables. The owner remembered our names at the end of our night saying goodby wow!! That’s always a big different in the level of service and food quality when an owner running is a business. It showed. Toilets clean. Love your...
