QUICK. FRIENDLY. TASTY.

Out of all the cafes in QVB, I’d have to personally announce that this tops all.

WHY, YOU MUST ASK?!

Accessibility: It’s fairly in the centre of the shops and you’ll most likely pass by (or have passed by) its kiosk on every occasion at QVB. You’re greeted by its environment as soon as you’re up the escalators after giving a big NO at Starbucks.

Food/Beverage/Price: What you’ll find is a wide selection of baked, sweet, and savory goods (and beverages) that will hit the spot whether you’ve been commuting/traveling for the past few hours, you’re trying to get a quick fix before your 9am meeting, or simply just need that caffeine rush because who the hell cares if you’re caffeinated at 4 in the afternoon?!—you’ll be in good hands as their treats will be more than satisfactory (if it has the word “Filo” or “Slice” I guarantee you won’t be disappointed). And let’s be honest here: You’re not at QVB to find a Michelin Star cuisine nor to be super picky about prices when there’s literally over 5 cafes nearby. You need something quick, quick enough to be on your way while thinking about what other goods you might want to try next time.

Service: Australians may not be known as the friendliest of the bunch, but at Metropole, I’ve caught surprise at how fantastic the staff are whether you’re alone or taking a group for a bite. They sure know how to please a customer as I’ve dined on over 10 occasions (and counting)! Everyone has a bias on their caffeinated beverages; and I’m not a picky person but, for any reason you’re not pleased with their products, just let them know and they’ll fix it up for you right away! The managers (Diane and Gigi) are superb. They’ll make you feel like you’re enjoying a cup of coffee right where their beans were sourced from. Truly splendid!! Ked (one of the many great baristas) sure knows how to make a nice iced coffee. My teeth are on the sweeter side and he does a perfect job in delivering the notes in my beverages. Pleasantly splendid!! Jaykim (I believe this is her alias and no one knows her real name), always puts on a big smile and provides excellent service—she’s fantastically splendid!!

I’m literally sitting here and charging my phone (customers only—let’s respect that mates) after having a Pulled Pork Roll (I was too hungry that I forgot to take a picture, apologies) to write this so PLEASE have a stop next time you’re in the area!

See you soon my...

We went to get some meal for six people, but the lady told us not to sit because she didn't want to put six chairs at a table with four chairs, even though we were prepared to accommodate. She reprimanded us and said she didn't have a large table when I asked what other options we had instead of making the room for us, she answered, "Yes, if it's possible, don't sit, we don’t have large table, if you sit, other people can’t get in, oh you also have a pram, it would be difficult for the lady to get out who was sitting near to the table, bla bla blah

which offended me much and was really rude to her. I feel horrible for the owner since they could have made extra and God knows how many times she must have done to the customer towards the closing time ( I assumed as it was around 5:30 pm) on Christmas Eve. She declined to serve us because it seemed extra work for her, and it was probably getting close to closing time, which she could’ve told us and we would have understood. She made it being very clear she didn’t want to serve extra people.

She needs to book her customer service trainings course...

I just ordered a coffee and a muffin, it’s $10.05 but I heard as $9.05, so I paid $10. She said do you have 5cents? And I said I gave you $10, and she kept asking 5cents and I said it’s $9.05 so I gave $10 then she said $10.05. I gave her $0.05 after that she mentioned anything. Thanks or that’s all or I’ll bring it or something, I I just waited she mentioned something that all finished order.

I’m working at cafe as well, I totally understand how they are working well. Other staff are very kind but she who is taking order doesn’t. Although I’m feeling not good at customer, I mentioned ‘thanks’ or ‘I will bring it’ to notice finished order. But she didn’t do anything. Even my friend ordered a croissant, she didn’t ask toasted or not. One more, my friend ordered a cap and it looked like 3/4full of coffee. (I don’t make a cappuccino like this.)

I actually wanted to give 2 or 3 out of 5 for a service but other staff were kind and nice, so I...
