__________Update__________ Mick’s burgers is a new concept by the owner and it’s brilliant! I’d highly recommend the cheese burger and teriyaki chicken wings. The milk bun for the burgers are freshly baked in-house and the patty was juicy yet retained it’s shape. The wings were flavoursome and moist inside yet were crispy on the outside. I’m looking forward to trying out the entire menu. The restaurant recently rebranded and has an entirely new and contemporary fit out with a simplified menu focusing on burgers and Japanese influenced sides which is a unique touch. I’m really enjoying the new vibes and the quality of the food has stayed consistent and delicious. Service is always amazing with a special shout out to Michael for looking after us for the evening. ________________________________ I discovered Take Us Away not too long ago and I’ve enjoyed the food. It’s a small little restaurant in St Leonards that it’s all about good, wholesome food and friendly service. I’ve been a big fan of the miso salmon - the salmon is cooked perfectly and gently flakes, the zoodles are a nice filler and she wasabi peas are a unique touch. The staff are always genuine and upbeat and the best part is that they’ve recently started serving bacon and egg rolls with a coffee for $10 which is a rare find in the area. Would definitely come again.

You HAVE to try this place if you're a lover of burgers or food or existing. The housemade brioche is perfection. They have a unique selection of burgers and sides to choose from. I got the classic cheese burger with some extra housemade pickles (including cucumber, korean radish and beetroot) and my partner ordered a chicken burger. The chicken was juicy and crispy but the cheese burger was an absolute godly creation. I highly recommend adding some radish and beet pickle from the extra pickles into the burger. The cheeseburger was flavourful with a patty that was not too thin but also not too thick. The fries were well seasoned and of a medium to thin thickness (my fave) and served well with their very very smoky housemade bbq sauce. The place was not super busy inside but they were taking a lot of online orders. I love the lowkey vibe and they had a great selection of hip hop and rap playing. Service is a little awkward but that's not a bad thing! They're really nice and helpful with suggestions, there is an authentic atmosphere. P.S yes they have dumplings!

Ok, shut the gate. This is the best burger I've had so far, and you can see the other places I've been to. Friendly table service from Andrew, immediately offering you table water when you sit down. Not common these days at reasonably priced establishments such as this. I ordered a cheeseburger with added bacon in a combo at $22.90. My order arrived quickly, generous portion of hot crispy, well seasoned fries. Bun is made on the premises. They say it's a 150gram beef patty. The burger didn't look big, but you could feel the weight of it when you picked it up. Either it's over 150 grams or the other "150g" places I've been to have been ripping me off. Cooked to perfection, pink in the middle, very juicy and tasty. Best to get there by public transport, parking is tough and expensive (metered). Exceptional food and service!

It is not often that I leave a negative review, but I feel that the business owner should get an honest feedback for their business to thrive.

Today I’ve ordered the Karaage Ramen and it didn’t meet my expectation. I have to admit that I didn’t expect that it’s a “dry noodle” style and that throw me off balance, but to have the broth/sauce taste burnt really makes me not able to finish the meal. On the other hand, the Karaage was excellent.

Also, another one of us ordered coffee and they mentioned that the coffee is cold when delivered. I know my friend well and they are not fussy about their coffee, and asked for it to be microwaved to bring it back up to temperature. To my shock the barrister actually did exactly what they asked and not making a fresh new one. My friend did not mind as this is exactly what they asked, but my advice is the barrister should make a fresh one so that their drinks are at the highest standard.

Hope this honest...
