I walked in at 19:50 thinking they would still be open for a while yet as the door was open and google says 22:00 closing time. I was immediately seated and given a menu and advised to order at the till. Staff came over as I was looking at menu and said last order is in 5 minutes and only the top line of meals was available. I ordered and it came pretty quick. The food was ok. However when staff are staring at you and sweeping and mopping around you whilst stacking chairs it's hard to enjoy and left a bitter taste due to this. I advised staff as I was leaving that I would prefer to know on coming in if they were closing and I would have gone somewhere else and spent my money somewhere with better atmosphere. Very disappointed and would not go back. They need to learn some customer service skills. If you're closing, tell me and I won't waste my money...

Customer service here has gown downhill & I have been here a lot as I work in the area. Used to be served by the twins but now they are always in the kitchen & servers are now young ladies. Those young ladies do not even smile and not welcoming at all, one even refused to give me water even after I sat down and got my food served, telling me that water is self-service. I have been here so many times and this was not an issue before. I had to go down a few steps to grab water and it so happened that I can’t walk properly that day due to a leg injury I sustained on the weekend. I know that it could be extremely busy at lunch hour but smiling at your customers wouldn’t hurt. Sometimes it feels like the servers didn’t want to be there. The food is delicious and cheap. Shame that their customer service left a bad taste...

Images from the menu was very misleading. The soft shell crab tasted like those frozen seafood packets you buy in the grocery store and what we received was less than what was advertised in the menu. The laksa tasted only of coconut and when asked to add some flavor, they just added chilli oil. Absolutely bland. Service is appalling. I called for the waitress numerous times and every single time I was ignored - they won't make eye contact with me and they'd pass by our table without acknowledging us. When I made eye contact with someone behind the counter, she just nodded and went about her business without helping us. Unhelpful whatsoever.

The only good thing - their fried wonton was...

Great semi-fusion Chinese/Japanese resturant with a small but strong menu of spicy noodle and hot pot dishes (also available in mild if you prefer). Most of the meals on offer are a generous in size for the price but not excessive in size which is nice. I've ordered the dumplings, some of the pots and they also have some noodle soups with fried pork chops. All of which have been of good quality. Decent assortment of speciality drinks but they are a little on the pricier side so haven't been game to try them. Good place to go if you want some classic dishes but with enough of a twist to make them different to what you'd expect at a basic level.

I’ve never eaten in at Mikirin, but I often order on Uber Eats, and it’s consistently delicious. My go-to order is the salt and pepper tofu with chilli oil and the wonton soup; both are absolute standouts. The tofu is soft with a touch of crispiness, cut into easy-to-digest bite-sized pieces, and packed with flavor. The soup never disappoints, and the dumplings are clearly homemade, with a delicate wrapper and a delicious filling. On one occasion, the soup was a little saltier than usual for my taste, but that hasn’t happened again. It always arrives hot and fresh, usually arriving within 30 min. Highly recommend!

This new Chinese noodle shop is bringing something different to the otherwise one dimensional Chinese noodles scene. It uses a nice subtle chicken broth as the foundation to build noodle soups that go beyond traditional Chinese flavours, venturing into southeast Asia, Korea and Japan. I was particularly impressed by the seafood noodle soup that featured an entire soft shell crab as the topping. The satay soup was subtle and not over-powering like most spicy Asian noodle broths, and the use of basil added an exotic flavour to the combination.
