We booked for Mother’s Day lunch today to celebrate with 2 moms and 2 overseas grandmas. The booking was 11:30am and half of our party arrived at 11:45am and as soon as they were seated, the server already advised that they we have to leave the table by 1:30pm as they have another seating. The other half of our party (5 people) arrived at 12:15pm and ordered food right away as soon as we arrived. During the entire time from our food was served at 12:35pm our server kept on coming back to our table to rush us into eating, even rudely touched my son’s mobile phone while he was watching kids video, just to check the time! It was 1:12pm and by this time, she was already clearing our plates while we were still eating and went all the way into saying to us: THE NEXT GUESTS ARE HERE, WE NEED THE TABLE TO CLEAN UP! Our entire group was already upset at this time as we have been pestered to leave for at least 5 times already while dining for Mother’s Day lunch, a moment that we hoped to share with family in a positive, memorable experience. We looked at the the entire restaurant and everyone was having a relaxed, good time and it was only us, being pressured into leaving our lunch even before our booking end time which was 1:30pm! One of our family members complained to the server about the treatment we were getting as we felt discriminated at this time already, looking at the mostly Causcasian crowd there, we were starting to question why us, being the only Asian family there, was being treated this way! A male manager came over to our table to apologise and said they have moved the next guest to another table and offered us to stay but we said we can not stay as they have already cleared our plates and any decent looking food we had left, we’re already inside take away boxes that we requested as they have rushed us to finish our lunch while we we’re supposed to be eating. The server apologised to us at this time and offered free dessert but we declined as well, as it was quite ironic how 5 minutes ago we were being rushed to finish our meals while we were eating and now that we complained and the manager knew about it, we were being offered “free dessert” as all our plates have been cleared already. The server kept on offering the free dessert but we honestly told her that Mother’s Day Lunch has been ruined and the experience was definitely disappointing and we only want to leave now, so we asked for our bill, paid for the $523 bill and left.
We apologised for our overseas moms for the bad experience as we felt we let them down for Mother’s Day by going to this Nick’s Seafood only to be mistreated by staff.
Will not be coming back to this place again as obviously the level of respect given to customers is not consistently and evenly accorded to all. (Who touches a restaurant guest’s phone screen without permission just to check the time ?)
If you are management reading this feedback please check your CCTV timestamps from 11:45am to 1:30pm May 12, 2024.
If you are planning to dine at Nick’s Seafood, act tough and try not to be treated like us (we probably looked weak or easy to bully hence,...
Read morePlease remain this if you don't want your money to slip out of your pocket when you’re not paying attention. This restaurant has the behavior of INDUCING CONSUMPTION. In the case that the we have made it clear that we only want to try something and having a regular dinner and DONT want to eat a lot, the waiter STILL sells the diners more than we (two girls only) can normally bear the portion size, which makes me really want to throw up in the middle of the night right now. I'm really really really ANGRY right now.🤢
Tonight, for the fireworks, my friend and I came to this restaurant. During the order, I made it clear that I only wanted baby lobster and just wanted to taste it, not really want to eat a lot of lobster (and we didn't come here specifically for lobster, we just wanted to have a normal dinner). In the face of two girls, the waiter told us that it was not enough to order one, and we must order two lobsters, as shown in the first picture, so we ate two lobsters, four and a half portions, Ahah woww I wanna 🤮 right now. Really it’s toooooo much. Also the bread, enter and paella. Hey PLEASE tell me How can a lobster not be enough for a dinner like that? Do we have to eat every single dish until we are full then that’s means we ate at your restaurant? It's so overwhelming. BTW, When I ordered the enter seafood platter, the waiter also blablabla for a long time and just to telling me that it is not enough for us to eat. You ** Seriously, Overselling is how you make money? BTW x2, The waiter is tall. We don’t need you to crouch down or get very close to us during the order, you should at least bend over. My neck is already feeling sore after ordering. If these behaviors are not condoned by your restaurant, then I really think you should conduct a proper staff management...
Read moreUpdate: We decided to give Nick's another try.. we went in to sit down and already knew what we were going to order. The lady that seated us pointed a waiter towards us. I told him what I wanted and he so rudely said. " Well it's going to take half an hour" I said excuse me? Are you saying the pie will take half an hour?" He said again and this time even more rude and sarcastic " yes, that's what I said half an hour" I was so disgusted as we hadn't even sat down yet that I just walked away. On the way out I mentioned to the waitress that the reason we are leaving is because of the waiter and his absolutely disgusting treatment of customers.
As a result of this waiters treatment, we will never ever go back to any of Nick's restaurant chains. As for the Christmas parties, looks like it will be Braza at the other end of Darling Harbour.
We ordered lobster and steak Fish and chips And another lobster but I can't remember what sauce. And drinks.
Lobster was rubbery Chips had no flavour And close to $50 for fish and chips.
It rained (a lot) and we all got moved so that interrupted the meal. I don't understand why they don't have awnings in case of rain??? What would've happened if it was full? Where would we have moved to?
We felt like the servers were being TOO overbearing almost annoying. Instead of recommendations, he was basically telling us what we SHOULD choose to the point we almost felt rude to order anything else.
Total bill was almost $400 but the food wasn't up to par.
Would be happy to pay that if it was how we envisioned it but, unfortunately the food just didn't justify the price in...
