Nutrition Station Marrickville — Restaurant in Sydney

I’m so sad. Finished a hard day at work and was dying for a coffee. I know with Covid times that shop times vary. So I googled coffee shops in Marrickville and this cafe popped up. I rang to make sure that they were open till five as says on the website. The lady was very kind and mentioned that 5 o’clock is the closing time and the coffee machine will go off at 4:45 so don’t miss out. I made my way down there swiftly and parked my car around 432. I walk to the shop at 4:35 and the close signs up, the lady was out the front talking. I was very upset to see it was closed and she knew I was coming. I went to 711 and got a coffee for a dollar. I know small business is doing it tough right now, I have eaten there before which was great, and I wanted to support, but they are not reliable with the times. I guess waiting around for a $4.50 coffees not worth it for them, all the other potential customers that we come...

I don't think I have ever been this disappointed with a meal. I got this on Uber Eats, perhaps the dine-in customer receives more respect. I never write bad reviews, but this was too much!

Eating the meat balls felt more like eating a shoe sole and saw dust cluster. The pumpkin pieces were all either completely overcooked or totally hard. The chargrilled vegetables were simultaneously soggy and undercooked - how, i can't even muster - and nothing had even a smidgeon of flavour.

The whole dish was dry as the Sahara, bland as a hopeless day and an aesthetical a disaster, to top it off.

Hopefully, this was just an "off-day" for these guys, but I'm not going to risk giving it...

I ordered the acai bowl as a treat after a difficult week trying to work from home. It was absolutely delicious, easily the best I've ever had - drizzled with honey, fresh strawberries, chia seeds and granola! Called to ask about banana in the acai mix and ended up having a lovely conversation with a representative over the phone! Just passing on my gratitude and appreciation for all that you guys do. Thanks for making my week better and for working hard in these uncertain times. I'll have a hard time resisting temptation...
