Huong Huong Marrickville — Restaurant in Sydney

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER...My partner and I have been going to this place for a long while prior to new ownership and over the last couple of months the service and portions of food has deteriorated. This time around we invited friends and wished we hadn't. The service was so bad we had to get up and ask for someone to come take our order and waited ages for it to come out. Then the portion of food was small, however, when we looked around the portion of food on the plates of Asian customers were much larger which isn't fair at all. On top of that there were other customers that were intoxicated and made it their mission to talk nonsense about the people that were sitting at our table and staring at us while we ate...management/staff did nothing, not to mention they left their table and the area around in a filthy mess; like we're all adults and only expect that from a child maybe. We tolerated it for as long as we could and then had to say something. It's disgusting to think that some customers get preferential treatment, and to top it off when my partner went to pay for the meal and we said thank you the lady was extremely rude. WE WILL NOT...

Absolute outstanding. Worth it to be put as the bucket list to visit it while in Sydney. Great food from the first Old Thanh Huong restaurant at illawara - Marrickville Chef behind the kitchen, bring back the old memories. Great taste, generous portion, good value for the money with great hospitality served with smile, warm atmosphere & nice cool room with 2 air conditioning being turning on while busy. I was there with my wife yesterday for sunday lunch ( We ordered marinated pork chop with steam rice , salt & paper quail, fried rice egg noodle chow mein with sauce). Wanted to return on Monday but it closed according to google. The lady owner also remind us if we want to order by the phone & search on google. Please to be make sure type Huong Huong. There are few incidents which up sad the customers as they thought they ordered but unfortunately the restaurant did not receive any order as the customers rang the different restaurant with similar name. Have come here a lot over the years but having organised a table for Mother's Day to then have to wait a long time for service or food to come out because all the delivery services (Uber Eats etc) were being prioritised is not acceptable. Had to ask multiple times when our order would be coming out, rice came out first but then took a while longer for anything to eat it with to come out. I understand it was a busy night being Mother's Day but that should be anticipated and people sitting there shouldn't have to wait while 16 delivery drivers pick up their orders first. If it was a bit longer, i'd understand and I don't have an issue with the quality of the food (It's delicious) but I won't be organising any group dinners here again. They did apologise at the time but that doesn't change the fact that what should have been a pleasant easy family dinner was pretty...
