Olive and Peel — Restaurant in Sydney

Food is decent however I will not be ordering from here again unfortunately. The service we received when ordering from here tonight was extremely poor. After waiting 28minutes we asked the worker if we could request a refund if the food wasn’t ready within 5minutes (at that stage it would be a 33minute wait, which is more than reasonable since we only ordered 2 medium pizzas and 1 garlic bread). Her response was “NO! YOU WILL WAIT” rather than explaining why there was a long wait or offering any compensation or understanding. After waiting around another 10min it’s the food came out however one of the pizzas were incorrect leading us to wait a total of 48minutes for 2 medium pizzas and 1 garlic bread. We ordered at the restaurant for takeaway so did not expect to wait this long. While waiting I also noticed that she was somewhat rude to other workers and Ubereats delivery drivers.

If this business is unable to provide their food in a timely manner I am unsure why they continue to serve customers. They either need more staff or better training on how to prioritise their operations.

This is unfortunate as I would have ordered here again considering the food isn’t bad but I will not wait that long nor be spoken to in that...

The pizza was very nice although not the thin crust that other reviewers liked. The wait time was again a disappointment although improved on the 1hour 20 I waited last time.

I ordered pick up and was told 20mins, so I arrived after 25mins to find my pizza wasn't even in the oven yet. Had to wait another 25mins sitting in the shop, which was cold as the door is open. There was no apology, just told it wont be long. There were other bored looking people waiting and the staff seemed oblivious to the inconvenience. They were busy but its no excuse for miscalculating the time by so much. To be honest I wouldn't mind waiting a hour for a pizza, but would rather do it in my cozy lounge room than their cold shop. And if they do stuff up the times, a simple apology would have been much appreciated, and the offer of some some free garlic bread or a soft drink whilst I waited would have kept them a customer. We have ordered here twice now. Our first experience was mediocre, the pizza and pasta was great, but in order to get our delivery we had to call the resteraunt 5min after menulog indicated that the estimated delivery time was to find that it was "just on its way" and ended up arriving approximately an hour after ordering. The second instance we ordered just after 8pm and out pizza eventually arrived, without the garlic bread we ordered at 10:45pm (over an hour after the time menulog recorded the pizza delivered). In my opinion this is way too late to be receiving dinner, and it was clear the pizzas had been sitting for some time before we had received them, so I can't even say that the food makes up for the wait or the non-existent service. I have no idea if the service is eat in, and I live just over 1km from Olive and Peel, but I wouldn't bother ordering home delivery from here, especially if your order in is scheduled around having to be somewhere, or if you have kids to work around. Next time I'll just go to Mimmos Pizza, esp if I feel like eating a pizza closer to midnight than a normal...
