I loved the cocktails and sambo place but being overcharged left a sour taste in my mouth
The Good: Cocktails and Sambo, mostly good service and vibe. Would have loved to give this place a 5/5! Honestly it was all delicious.
The Bad: It's table service only, so you cannot pay as you go. We were overcharged on our bill, and while mistakes happen, I couldn't help but wonder if certain bar staff do this because people don't check the bill before they pay?
The Ugly: If the waiter had apologised for overcharging us and charged us the correct amount, I would not be leaving any negative feedback, but instead he doubled down, said the system automates the happy hour discount and he's unable to change it(if this is true then he didn't put it in when we ordered it) and tried to guilt us by saying he would have to pay out of his own pocket. We had 17 cocktails, and only 4 of them were happy hour ones, so it's not like we were being tight or trying to "game" their happy hour (not that there's anything wrong with ordering happy hour drinks- that's why bars have them right?). We had time stamped videos and photos to prove when we ordered and got our drinks, from our party's documenter/Instagrammer. It was probably just this one waiter, since one of our drinks did come up as a happy hour drink, and that was the one probably ordered from a different waiter. He eventually gave us a refund for 2 of the overcharged drinks, and we let him keep the 3rd one since our party's "confronter" let it go, and we really wanted to leave but it definitely ruined our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA small absinthe bar themed after the mexican day of the dead and haiti voodoo, has a warm atmosphere, but dark horrors lie within when you try there potent potions within. This place makes a great selection of cocktail the ones I have had were the Zombie (which comes in a flaming tiki statue) and the Banda all night. both of these were great.
This place is famous for there absinthe and one of my friend on our bar crawl got a shot of absinthe, which was served with what I could only describe as a portable water tap, which you would pour on top of a cube of sugar to sweeten and reduce the strength of the absinthe. It was that extra detail which make this place so good.
The staff were all friendly allowing us to take photo behind the bar (shame we didn't get to make any drinks ourselves) a interesting fact about this place is the people who were serving the drinks were the owners, so it had a very personal feel to it as you got to met the people in charge of this...

The vibe of this place is really chill, dark but packed with atmosphere. I was looking around and noticed everyone was living in the moment, with barely anyone on their phones and just talking and laughing with the people they were with. It was really nice to see.
The cocktail menu has many options to choose from. For the first round, I ordered Sloe News Day, while my cousin ordered Extra Extra! Both were nice, but the winner was Extra Extra complete with a smoke bubble. For second round I ordered Total Eclipse and my cousin ordered the Zombie. The Zombie cocktail was lit up with fire - pretty cool.
Cocktails are on average about $20 each.
The staff were also lovely! They kept checking in on us and you could tell they enjoy working here.
Overall, it was a great time at...
