I visited Pippi's the other weekend for a group lunch and upon arrival we were asked to wait outside with all other diners as they were doing a big setting and table changeover. We were standing waiting between 10-15 minutes for this to happen, which then ate into our dining time. The set menu was extremely confusing and each staff member explained it differently. We had to choose one item out of each category, which is usually normal when each person gets a meal to themselves, however, you can't expect each person in a 10-15 person seating to enjoy the exact same meal (eg. Porcini & King Mushroom Risotto) + dietary requirements come into the equation. Why not have multiple share options available for large seatings? We couldn't choose pizza because the Coeliac guest is unable to eat this, but we couldn't choose the chicken due to a pescatarian guest. Very strange. After expressing confusion to the staff, one of the lovely young female staff members (dark brown hair) said she'd organise for a gluten free chicken dish to be brought out for the Coeliac guest as all other guests wanted pizza (understandably) and 1x gluten free bolognese, but it was made out to be a one off offer and not something they usually do. The Moroccan Spiced Chicken was delectable and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the service was lacking severely and both gluten free meals came out much later (30 minutes) than all the other meals. We ended up just getting the gluten free pasta takeaway as everyone else had already finished eating. The staff didn't clear the tables, nor reset any cutlery, glasses, water jugs or side plates our entire visit - besides when requested. The table looked an absolute mess with stacked plates by the end of our visit. We were abruptly told to leave once the next seating of people showed up for their bookings and the whole restaurant had to quickly clear out. Seems like their is a lot to work on at this restaurant, however, if the customer service was improved I believe the experience would be far superior. It feels as though the restaurant and set menu has been designed for celebrations (seating of 4 or more) and people who don't care too much for a scrumptious...
Read moreOvercharge on Bill - No Refund After 3 Weeks
I’ve been waiting over three weeks for a promised refund, and I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of follow-through. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, including a phone call, four emails, and a Facebook message, Jasmine has not refunded me for the overcharge on our bill.
To add to the frustration, the service on our visit was disappointing. The food portions were incredibly small (just two mussels and some cut-up prawn in the Calamarata Pasta for $34) and left us underwhelmed.
After reviewing the bill the next day, we realised one of the meals we ordered (a shared dish) was missing. I called and left a message, but received no reply. Two days later, I followed up with an email and received a prompt response saying they would process a refund if I provided my account details. I did, yet there has been no further communication, and my refund has still not been issued.
I’ve received no response to any of my follow-up attempts, and I’m extremely disappointed with the overall experience. I didn't really want to have to write this review but what else can I do when they DON"T RESPOND??? I will be sharing this issue with others and urging anyone who asks to be cautious when considering this establishment.
Update: Refund Received – January 27th at 4:12 PM
I received the refund today at 4:12 PM (Mon, Jan 27th) – YES, I have the transfer receipt. However, I don’t appreciate being told it was sent on the 23rd, as it seems like an attempt to make me look bad. A simple apology for the error would have been much more appropriate.
As mentioned earlier, I didn’t want to leave this review, but it was the only way to get your attention and finally receive the refund. The $25 isn’t the issue – it’s the principle. Frankly, I wouldn’t go through all this trouble and create a false claim about not receiving a meal just for a $25 refund.
Your below response to my review feels unprofessional and contrasts with the email you sent me, where you offered both an apology and a restaurant voucher for the...
Read moreWent here for family member's birthday dinner and honestly, we haven't been so disappointed in a restaurant for a long time. Wait staff seemed to ignore our table completely, and our only way to get their attention was to physically stand up and go find someone. We had to do this multiple times because nobody came to give us glasses for our wine or take our order within any acceptable timeframe. As well as this, we specifically requested our staters come out first before the mains, yet they all arrived at the same time after a rather lengthy delay. The biggest problems were with the food however, as all of the dishes we ordered had issues. The person whose birthday we celebrated decided to treat herself to the half lobster, which upon receiving it, was raw underneath the surface. We sent it back and requested a new one, however the second one still wasn’t 100% cooked through, and due to the delays, resulted in everyone having finished their meals while we watched our disappointed family member eat a sad meal on her birthday. I ordered the moroccan chicken which did taste quite good, however it was a very small serving of chicken compared to what you would expect. My partner had the mushroom pasta which was very dry as well.
We were also seated right next to the kids play area which lead to the unpleasant experience of screaming children for our whole meal, however I cannot discredit the restaurant of this too much, and mainly write this as a warning to those considering this restaurant.
Overall, from the underwhelming food to the unacceptable service, I would not recommend visiting here and certainly won’t be coming again. Which is disappointing as it was our third time visiting and had quite a pleasant experience those other times. To their credit, they did halve the cost of the lobster as a result of this, however it definitely doesn’t justify probably the worst doing experience we’ve had in...
